We are happy to announce that Kevin Kroll has been appointed as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of our U.S. renewables business, RWE Clean Energy. Starting August 1st, he will complete the Executive Leadership Team under the lead of Andrew Flanagan. Kevin joins us from McKinsey & Company. He showcases a career-long commitment to promoting decarbonised energy infrastructure, with an extensive knowledge of the global energy sector. In his new role, he will support us in continuing to expand our U.S. business and overseeing our growing fleet of renewable generation projects. Welcome to #TeamRWE, Kevin!

Over 100 MWac! That is the total capacity of the solar plants we have now under construction across Poland! And with the Bojanowo East photovoltaic farm we have just commissioned our very first of those solar projects. Here, we have installed more than 17,800 solar modules that are now able to power the equivalent of 4,300 Polish households annually. A great milestone, with more to come as we are looking forward to further leveraging Poland’s sunny conditions and good locations for solar power. Now, it's on to the next project.

Exploring the depths of sustainability: Together with Saitec Offshore Technologies, we have just launched the "DemoSATH Lab" initiative to conduct further environmental studies on DemoSATH, a 2 MW operational floating offshore wind turbine installed 2 miles off the Spanish coastline.     This research investigates the platform's interactions with the environment, focusing particularly on bird interactions, underwater noise, and marine life. Such environmental studies will help us to ensure our future development of floating offshore wind is undertaken in coexistence with nature. 

Howdy from Texas, where you can find our 209-megawatt Roscoe wind farm. The project has been up and running since 2008 and is now the cornerstone of our Roscoe Complex, a conglomerate of onshore wind farms that together make up a total installed capacity of 781.5 megawatts.

Since 2021, we have been powering three Polish breweries with wind energy. A large share of their electricity needs is covered by LECH Nowy Staw III. Located about 50 km southeast of Gdansk, its three turbines together have an installed capacity of 12 megawatts. This collaboration is a great testament to how we can support companies in their efforts to reduce carbon emissions while driving forward wind energy.

Joining forces for offshore wind: We have partnered with TotalEnergies on our OranjeWind project in the Netherlands and have now taken the investment decision. OranjeWind will be the first system integration project in the Dutch market. It aims to match intermittent wind power generation with flexible energy demand, thus contributing to grid stability. Offshore construction for the wind farm – with an installed capacity of 795 MW and a 50% stake for each partner – is scheduled to start in 2026. Full commissioning is expected in early 2028. OranjeWind will then produce enough green electricity to supply the equivalent of more than one million Dutch households.
