Machine Learning for Science - starting with Quantum Technologies
Info
Qruise develops software that helps scientists and researchers use Machine Learning tools in their day-to-day scientific workflows without having to worry about what's under the hood. ML has revolutionised how science is being done and taking advantage of this new numerical toolset should not require having a full time ML scientist on the team to design, develop and deploy systems. Qruise is developing ML for Science as a productised toolset making ML driven discovery accessible to all. Our first offerings address the growing pains of controlling current generation noisy quantum computers (NISQ devices) and provide improvements in operational fidelities through the use of ML & Quantum Optimal Control.

Last week we attended the 5th collaborative meeting of the QSolid project in Vaals, the Netherlands! And it was truly inspiring to see how far we have progressed in the last 3 years ✨ The meeting was a fantastic opportunity for an in-person technical exchange with Forschungszentrum Jülich’s PGI-13, Zurich Instruments, and our other project partners, including detailed discussions on the challenges ahead and brainstorming together on how to overcome them 🧠⚡️ The Qruise team has been hard at work over the last couple of months calibrating and characterising the QPU fabricated by our colleagues at PGI-13, using QruiseOS and QruiseML to automate the tune-up procedure with advanced digital twins. Schedule a demo today to try out QruiseOS yourself: https://lnkd.in/eqdEzRQq 🚀 #QSolid #QuantumComputing

Our heads are spinning after an excellent time at SpinQubit6 in Sydney last week!💫 As our first spin qubit conference, it didn’t disappoint! It was great to get an insight into the field, learning all about the latest advances and current challenges, and, most importantly, the meteoric progress that has taken place in the last 5 years!☄️ It was wonderful listening to colleagues from both industry (ARQUE Systems GmbH, Diraq, Intel Corporation, imec, Quobly) and academia (QuTech, University of Konstanz, UNSW, University of Wisconsin-Madison, University of Oxford) present some very promising results demonstrating the advancements made in scalable qubit fabrication and control ⚛️ This vibrant community of startups, research centres, and academic institutions is driving the field forward as it becomes a strong contender for the final answer to scalable fault tolerant quantum computing 💪🏼🚀 One non-science highlight from the week was the whale watching cruise on Wednesday, where we were very lucky to see a baby humpback enjoying splashing around with its mama 🌊🐋 A special thanks to the organisers for such a fabulous week! We’re already looking forward to SpinQubit7 🔥🥳 #SpinQubit6 #SpinQubits #QuantumComputing

Two weeks ago, we had the pleasure of attending the QuE-MRT Annual Meeting at the Technical University of Munich ⚛️🤝 The QuE-MRT project aims to enhance hyperpolarised MRI, thereby transforming it into a clinically and commercially viable technique for the metabolic imaging of cancerous tumours. It was brilliant to hear about the progress our partners have made, and to present the newest version of the Qruise software and demonstrate how it will aid the project. Two particularly special moments for us were touring the state-of-the-art laboratories and discussing the future of hyperpolarised NMR and MRI technologies with the partners 🔬🔮 It’s great to see how our combined expertise is pushing the boundaries of quantum-enhanced medical imaging. We’re looking forward to continuing these valuable partnerships as we work together to advance healthcare diagnostics!💪💫 A special thank you to Prof. Franz Schilling's lab and the Institute of Nuclear Medicine for being such fantastic hosts ✨ #QuE_MRT #HyperpolarisedMRI NVision Imaging Technologies | Siemens Healthineers | RAPID Biomedical GmbH | TUM Universitätsklinikum Klinikum rechts der Isar | Universitätsklinikum Freiburg | Universitätsklinikum Ulm | Ulm University

Qruise is heading down under for the first time!🦘🇦🇺 Catch us from 4th to 8th November in Sydney, Australia at SpinQubit6, where we’ll delve into all aspects of spin-based quantum information processing ⚛️ The conference will explore different spin qubit techniques, including donors in silicon, gate-defined quantum dots in GaAs, Ge nanowires, and more! Alongside this, there will be discussions on fabrication, algorithms, and cryogenic control electronics ⚡️ We look forward to diving deeper into the world of spin-based qubits and gaining a better understanding of the current challenges the field faces. With this being our first spin qubit conference, as well as our first time in Australia, we’re especially excited to get to know the community a little better 🤝🐨 See you next week, Sydney!🥳 #SpinQubit6 #SpinQubits #QuantumComputing

Still feeling inspired by the events of last week ✨ The midterm meeting of the ‘Quantum Computer Demonstration Setups’ funding measure was thrilling to witness. All 10 quantum research projects showcased their progress over the last two years, and it’s incredible to see what they’ve achieved so far and where they plan to go next ⚛️🚀 Alongside project updates, the meeting featured an insightful panel discussion on the future of quantum computing in Germany, presentations on cross-cutting topics, and valuable networking opportunities 🔮🤝 Our CEO, Shai Machnes, thoroughly enjoyed engaging in fruitful conversations and deep technical discussions with the fellow PIs and scientists involved in making the quantum computing demonstrator project a huge success!🏆 A massive thanks to the VDI Technologiezentrum GmbH and Fraunhofer Center for International Management and Knowledge Economy IMW for organising this spectacular event! Here’s to many more successful years of pushing quantum boundaries and achieving the extraordinary 💫 #QuantumComputing #MachineLearning Photo credits: VDI Technologiezentrum GmbH/Luigi Lo Grasso

We’re excited to share the results of our recent work on optical qubits, performed in collaboration with Dr Andrea Alberti and the Max Planck Institute of Quantum Optics ⚛️🤝 Optical qubits are an attractive platform for quantum computing due to their long coherence times and large energy level splittings. However, the momentum of the drive laser photons can disturb the position or momentum of the qubits, affecting their state and energy levels. This unwanted phenomenon is known as photon recoil 😵💫 As part of the Munich Quantum Valley Project MUNIQC-Atoms, we have systematically analysed the impact of photon recoil on gate operations and developed a recoil-free pulse scheme. This new approach suppresses motional decoherence, enables global and local gate operations to be performed in parallel, is insensitive to probe shift, and corrects for systematic unitary errors⚡️ With this new scheme, we’re one step closer to realising large-scale optical qubit systems with high fidelities!🙌🚀 🗞️ Read the whole paper on arXiv now: https://lnkd.in/d8HmJ_Qi #OpticalQubits #QuantumComputing
