Celebrating at the Nordex Group: 25 years ago, the production of our nacelles moved to the DMR facility in Rostock – a quarter of a century in which our company and turbine technology have developed rapidly. From the first 2.5 MW turbine to the current 6 MW class of our Delta4000 turbines, the DMR in Rostock has launched no fewer than eight turbine series so far. The facility is an important development center of the Nordex Group, and with 3.4 GW of production capacity, it’s also an important foundation for our operational business: wind turbines “made in Rostock” and primarily supplied to European markets. Today, the Nordex Group is one of the world's leading manufacturers of wind turbines – and with 800 colleagues at the DMR, it is also one of the largest employers in the region. During the anniversary celebration, CEO Jose Luis Blanco and plant manager Alexander Farnkopf paid tribute to our colleagues’ achievements and thanked #TeamNordexRostock for their great commitment. #nxgnews #globalproduction

Last week, #TeamNordex laced up their running shoes and took on the 16th edition of the MOPO relay run in Hamburg, Germany! Since 2010, the Nordex Group athletes have competed in this exciting event. This year, 40 colleagues across 8 relay teams completed the 25 km race through Hamburg's Stadtpark, passing cheering team members, colleagues, friends, and family. After crossing the finish line, each team received a well-stocked picnic basket and enjoyed a cool down with all the other teams in the park. The event was all about having fun and building team spirit while supporting a good cause. For every team that participated, a donation was made to Stadtpark-Verein e.V., a non-profit organization dedicated to the preservation and development of the park. The money raised will be used for the planting of new trees for the park’s educational tree trail. We want to give a huge shoutout to all the #TeamNordex athletes for their participation, stamina, and team spirit, and a special thanks to our colleague Thomas Bauer for his outstanding organizational efforts. #nxgsocialactivities #greatplacetowork #NordexGroup

Recently, #TeamNordex colleagues and volunteers from our Vento Blades Plant in India planted 1000 tree saplings following on from activities related to World Environment Day. Spearheaded by local management, the planting drive was a great example of the Nordex Group’s commitment to sustainability and teamwork. The trees, carefully selected for their compatibility with the local ecosystem, will have a lasting impact on wildlife, carbon sequestration, and air quality. To help our colleagues achieve their ambitious goal, we partnered with the Tamilnadu Forest Department who very kindly donated the saplings for this project, thus highlighting the power of public-private partnerships in advancing green initiatives. The practice of planting diverse tree species is fast becoming the norm across our facilities in India and is one we plan to continue to help us advance meaningful initiatives for a sustainable legacy. #TeamNordexIndia #NordexGroup #Sustainability #GreenInitiatives

Exciting news! The Nordex Group's near-term and net-zero emission reduction targets have been approved by the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi). A look back: Since the beginning of 2022, the Nordex Group has been pursuing ambitious goals in climate change and decarbonization as part of our Sustainability Strategy 2025. We had already made a commitment to set science-based targets back in December, 2021 and since then, we have been working tirelessly to reach important milestones along the journey: We selected 2022 as the base year and calculated the corresponding corporate carbon footprint, developed target paths aligned with the 1.5°C target of the Paris Climate Agreement, and submitted these targets to the SBTi at the end of last year. After a thorough review by the SBTi, we are proud to announce that we finally received the approval. The validation of these targets is an important milestone for #TeamNordex in pursuing our vision to provide products and services that empower people around the world and contribute to a cleaner and more peaceful planet. 2000th Delta4000 nacelle manufactured in Rostock, Germany! Today, on 1 August 2024, #TeamNordexRostock achieved a significant milestone by manufacturing the site’s 2000th Delta4000 nacelle at our production facility in Germany. The nacelle will be installed as part of a wind farm in Türkiye, along with eleven other N163/6.X turbines. Since March 2019, the Nordex Group has produced Delta4000 nacelles, hubs, drive trains, and control cabinets in series at its facility in Rostock. From here, the company specifically serves the German and neighbouring European markets. This achievement is particularly noteworthy as it coincides with today’s Earth Overshoot Day, which marks the point in the year when humanity's demand for natural resources exceeds the Earth's ability to regenerate them. At the Nordex Group, we are committed to doing our part every day to help #MoveTheDate and create a more sustainable future. Our wind turbines harness the power of the wind to generate clean electricity, significantly reducing greenhouse gas emissions and contributing to a healthier planet in alignment with the UN Sustainable Development Goal 7. Many thanks to our dedicated #TeamNordexRostock and congratulations on this magnificent achievement. #TogetherForChange #greenenergy #NordexGroup Picture: Sebastian Brüßler
