We are strengthening our partnership with LOT Polish Airlines with a new Engine Maintenance Services contract for the CFM56-7B engines of the airline's Boeing 737NG fleet. In addition to the eleven planned overhauls, of which the first recently started and will be performed at our headquarters in Hamburg, we will support LOT with two lease engines to ensure its operational stability.   Dorota Dmuchowska, COO at LOT Polish Airlines said: “After the successful start of our relatively new cooperation, we are convinced that Lufthansa Technik's technical expertise - also in the field of Engine Maintenance - will further enhance our operational stability for the coming years. Our partner has shown a deep understanding of our individual requirements and has demonstrated its flexibility in adapting its offerings.” “After the successful first Boeing 787 overhaul for LOT in Malta in April, which marked the beginning of our cooperation, we are pleased to further deepen our partnership,” added Kai Roepke, our Senior Vice President Corporate Sales EMEA. “It's not just the crane in our company logos that unites us, but the striving for excellence. Therefore, the new contract marks another important milestone in our collaboration and demonstrates that our customers can benefit significantly from our commitment to first-class engine MRO services.” #keepyouflying #MROexperts #LufthansaTechnik

Installing an engine in 29 seconds, taking a seat in the cockpit and touching the innovative sharkskin foil. Many things were possible at the summer edition of the "WeTech Innovation Slam", which this time took place in one of our aircraft hangar in Hamburg: Around 300 IT and engineering students gathered last week to experience innovations from leading companies. Highlights included IBM's CIMON, the first AI assistant in space; Airbus’s cybersecurity tests at ZAL; Check24’s app for the 2024 European Championship; our Engine Services’ Lego Leap engine competition; a VR tour of our workshops; GuideU’s third-generation light strips and personalized key rings; and AVIATAR’s digital platform and AeroSHARK film. Riekje Cordes from our Employer Branding Team said, "I am delighted that so many students from all over northern Germany accepted the invitation to get to know Lufthansa Technik and other companies. In this special location, we are showcasing our broad portfolio with a focus on digital products, for which we are always looking for new, committed employees." We are partnering with another major airline in the #APAC region: Lufthansa Technik takes over the Total Component Support for Air India Limited entire Boeing 777 fleet. The multi-year agreement that was signed today in Gurugram, India, encompasses services for a total of 27 aircraft. With this first contract, we are laying the foundations for long-term cooperation. Starting in July 2024, Air India receives our proven Total Component Support. The now concluded agreement includes the maintenance, repair and overhaul of aircraft components and provides Air India access to Lufthansa Technik’s global component pool and logistics services. The close partnership will enable the airline to maximize efficiency in its technical operations and ensures the best possible availability of the spare parts it needs. Sisira Dash, Chief Technical Officer at Air India, said: “The partnership with the well-experienced Lufthansa Technik for the component support of our entire Boeing 777 fleet of 27 aircraft is a significant milestone in our collaborative journey. Lufthansa Technik demonstrated professional ad-hoc support for our Boeing 777 fleet and we are delighted to strengthen this relationship further by way of this long-term agreement.” Dennis Kohr, Senior Vice President Corporate Sales Asia Pacific at Lufthansa Technik, commented: “We would like to thank Air India for their trust and for awarding Lufthansa Technik to provide comprehensive Total Component Support. As the airline continues on its growth path in the next years, we look forward to supporting them with our services and eagerly anticipate expanding our new partnership further.” Besides Air India, Lufthansa Technik has been associated with Tata group airline companies Vistara in the field of Boeing 787 components since 2020 and with Air India Express in the area of Engine Maintenance Service since January this year. #LufthansaTechnik #keepyouflying

Hangar doors open for our #TourdeTechnik! Matteo Filippo is a passionate aerospace engineer and a true "Green Explorer". That's why he has spent the last few months in an interdisciplinary team with colleagues from Lufthansa Group contributing his knowledge to finding new solutions to make flying more sustainable. He loves aircraft and racing bikes. He'll be joining the "Tour de Technik", our racing bike tour through Germany, covering up to 222 km and 7,500 m of altitude in just six days. Coincidentally, Sören Gellers, a fellow Green Explorer, will also be participating in the tour. Matteo and Soeren will push their limits and might even come up with ideas to make the MRO industry more sustainable. ☀️ 𝗟𝗲𝘁 𝗶𝘁 𝘀𝗵𝗶𝗻𝗲! ☀️ At Lufthansa Technik, we're committed to reducing our carbon footprint. With our largest operation site, the Hamburg base, accounting for about half of our emissions, it's central to our decarbonization efforts. Our goal is to make our Hamburg site carbon neutral by 2045. One way we're working towards this objective is by installing a photovoltaic system. Covering approximately 1,300 square meters with around 660 solar panels, this system is now operational and boasts a capacity of 300 kilowatts peak. It’s expected to generate around 265,000 kilowatt-hours of electricity per year, enough to power over 130 single-family homes annually. We also have plans to install additional photovoltaic systems on a new building, aiming to produce between two and four gigawatt-hours of solar power at the Hamburg site in the future. 🔋⚡ This is a positive step towards making our site more sustainable, and we won’t stop here. The key to our long-term success lies in further reducing our electricity and energy consumption. We're already making progress in this direction, such as switching to LED lighting. Stay tuned! 💡 Beyond Hamburg, we have photovoltaic systems at other locations and are continually working to reduce the environmental impact of our operations through various measures. #SolarPower #RenewableEnergy #Sustainability

Good news for our customers in the Asia-Pacific region: To meet the demand of the growing market, Lufthansa Technik has opened a warehouse location in Japan. The new site, intended for storing components, is based directly at Narita Airport in Tokyo. Therefore, we are further expanding our footprint in the Asia-Pacific region, enabling even swifter delivery of aircraft parts. Located at Narita Airport, the facility shall be developed to serve as a hub for material supply, significantly enhancing local availability. While the new warehouse location will initially serve Lufthansa Technik's customers in Japan, there are plans to extend the service to customers in other countries within the region in the future. Dennis Kohr, Senior Vice President Corporate Sales Asia Pacific at Lufthansa Technik, says: “The fact that Lufthansa Technik opens its first warehouse location in Tokyo proves how important it is for us to strengthen our relationship with our Japanese customers. To continue growing together, we are pleased to offer the required service exactly where it is needed and thus expanding our strong market position in components, that we already have in northern Asia. We plan to broaden operations and extend our support also to other countries in the region.” Andreas Tielmann, CEO at Lufthansa Technik Logistik Services, adds: “As one of the leading logistics service providers in the maintenance, repair and overhaul industry and for airline companies, we are enlarging our global network by having a warehouse in Japan that enables us to better distribute material. Due to its proximity to Narita Airport, the location provides increased transportation convenience, leading to enhanced logistical efficiency.” #LufthansaTechnik #keepyouflying
