secure and reliable wireless networks
Info
Last Mile Semiconductor is a deep-tech semiconductor startup based in Dresden, Germany in the heart of Silicon Saxony. Our technology is based on a new wireless non-cellular 5G standard, which enables Massive IoT. This is a future where billions or even trillions of smart devices are connected. At Last Mile Semiconductor, we develop a low-cost, highly secure, and reliable wireless chipset based on DECT NR+. 𝐃𝐄𝐂𝐓 𝐍𝐑+ 𝐒𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐫𝐝 Millions of machines, devices and sensors are already connected via the Internet of Things. However, with currently available radio standards (such as LTE-M, LoRa, NB-IoT, Zigbee, Bluetooth, WiFi, etc.), certain networking scenarios are not possible due to cost or interference. This is about to change with DECT NR+. This is the first non-cellular 5G technology that does not require a data subscription and therefore offers low cost and low latency. This requires new, advanced microchips that set new standards in cost, power dissipation and battery life. - No provider / no SIM card - up to 6km range, up to 10 Mbps data rate - Free global, dedicated spectrum at 1.9GHz – No ISM band congestion issues - At a fraction of the cost of cellular - Easy to deploy - Perfect fit for massive IoT use cases

Thank you HANNOVER MESSE 24! There are still a few hours to go, but it has been an amazing week full of exciting discussions, cutting-edge technologies and valuable connections. We would like to thank everyone who visited our booth to learn more about #NR+ and our non-cellular #5G wireless microchip. We were particularly pleased by the interest shown in our technology by the State Secretary the Free State of Saxony, Thomas Kralinski. We would therefore like to thank the #WirtschaftsförderungSachsen, the Federal State of #Saxony, Silicon Saxony and in particular #ESFPlus for their support. Last but not least, many thanks to our neighbours DECT Forum, Wirepas and Nordic Semiconductor for the great cooperation! See you next year! #Silicon Saxony #NR+ #HannoverMesse #ESFPlus #Sachsen #IoT

This time Mom is watching the radio interference. One of the benefits of NR+ radio technology is the licence-free global spectrum. What does it really mean? Simple answer is, less interference. NR+ typically has less interference because it’s less crowded. Devices in the 2.4 GHz band (like Wi-Fi and Bluetooth) can cause congestion. Very difficult to understand, because you cannot see the radio waves. However, the attached picture tells a lot more. While the 2.4 GHz ISM band is very crowded, the 1.9 GHz DECT band used by NR+ is very much interference free. This is the live situation at Hannover Messe. Thanks to Last Mile Semiconductor for the spectrum scanner. Should you operate a reliable industrial IoT network, which radio band would you choose? Crowded 2.4 GHz ISM band or low interference 1.9 GHz DECT band. DECT Forum, Nordic Semiconductor, Last Mile Semiconductor and Wirepas have a live demonstration of NR+ ongoing at Hannover Messe 2024. #HM24

what is the main difference of DECT NR+, from all other wireless non-cellular technologies? from 1880 to 1930 MHz of radio spectrum, license-free and (almost) worldwide available! Common ISM bands, (like 2.45GHz), or subGHz ISM bands, (like 434, 868 or 928 MHz), are full of interference: Wifi, WiFi Halow, Bluetooth, Zigbee, Zwave, Mioty, IO Link, iPCF, Echo Ring, Lorawan, Sigfox, sWave, Mbus, Wisun, ANT+, Nearlink... See you at the Hannover 5G Arena! Last Mile semi is a semiconductor startup for the breakthrough development of a new non-cellular 5G wireless chipset that enables secure massive loT use cases. #Innovation #loT #DigitalSovereignity
