In naher Zukunft wird Europa mit #eIDAS2 ein Framework für digitale Identitäten vorschreiben, die in einer mobilen App gespeichert werden können. Das bedeutet auch, dass sich betrügerische Handlungen an die neue Umgebung anpassen werden. Rechtliche und technische Gegenmaßnahmen müssen schnell anpassbar sein, um der Betrugsentwicklung Stand zu halten. Die European Union Agency for Cybersecurity (ENISA) weist in ihrem Bericht „Remote ID Proofing Good Practices“ auf aktuelle Bedrohungen und Angriffstechniken hin. Das Ziel der Agentur ist es, die in der geplanten eIDAS 2.0-Verordnung formulierten Sicherheitsanforderungen für digitale Identitäten mit konkreten Maßnahmen zu unterlegen. Der Leitfaden konzentriert sich auf Angriffe durch #FacePresentationAttacks, die Gesichtserkennungssysteme täuschen können, sowie #IdentityDocumentAttacks.
