📢 Evonik is aligning two business lines for a new growth strategy Evonik is reorganizing its Coating & Adhesive Resins and Health Care Business Lines to strengthen their growth potential. The focus will be on core businesses in order to target investments. Solutions such as sales or partnerships are being sought for areas outside of these cores. In certain cases, business will be discontinued in a socially responsible manner. Overall, this affects business units with sales of €350 million. 🔹Health Care will in future focus on lipids for mRNA and gene therapies, drug delivery systems and cell culture ingredients. The production of keto acids will be discontinued at the end of 2025, with around 260 affected employees being supported in their search for new opportunities. 🔹Coating & Adhesive Resins is focusing on liquid polybutadienes and specialty acrylates. The polyolefins business will be transferred to the C4 chemicals unit and sold in the future. The polyester business is to be transferred to new owners. Evonik is committed to implementing these measures in a socially responsible manner and working closely with employee representatives. After completing his bachelor's degree in chemical engineering, Lorenz wanted to gain practical experience in technical-chemical research. Evonik is grateful to have participated in Manufacturing Week in Lafayette! Fantastic news! 🎉🏆 We have been awarded the CPHI Pharma Award in the “Sustainability” category for our plant-based #squalene PhytoSquene®. PhytoSquene® can be used for #parenteral #drugdelivery applications and is the first plant-based squalene available which complies with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP). “Sustainability drives us! This award confirms that we are pursuing the right goals: to offer our customers alternatives that enhance patient outcomes and protect our planet,” said Yann D'Herve, Head of the Health Care business line at Evonik. #PhytoSquene is made from the oil of amaranth (Amaranthus caudatus), an herbaceous plant, and renewable feedstock, cultivated in many parts of the world. It is manufactured in Germany using a proprietary process and has consistently high quality, compliant with European Pharmacopoeia (Ph. Eur.) regulations. 👨🔬🚀 Peter works on visions and the future of membrane technology at Evonik. “Our developments are mostly about the purification of liquid and gaseous mixtures. For this purpose, we use separation processes such as distillation, absorption, extraction or membrane processes. My aim is to calculate these processes theoretically to gain a better understanding of the separation and to significantly reduce the number of complex experiments.” 🌊💧 There is a wide range of application, where membrane technology can be applied. Membranes are already a significant part of Evonik's portfolio today, but it's also an important topic for the future of Evonik. 🖥️ 🏭 A special development by Peter is the so-called high-throughput simulation. He has programmed a digital simulator for membrane separations that incorporates around 80,000 equations.
