Discover how our team prepared the eVTOL for its big debut and hear from our #CEO and co-Founder, David Loebl, on the inefficiencies in current patient transport: "Street transport is too slow, and air transport is too expensive. […] Over the past four years, we've worked with medical and air rescue experts to create an electric VTOL specifically tailored for medical use." After 4 years of relentless dedication, yesterday, we proudly unveiled our cutting-edge #eVTOL to the world, marking a significant milestone in our journey towards the future of patient transport in aviation. And we must say, the event was nothing short of spectacular! Our unique eVTOL demonstrator captivated the audience with its design meticulously crafted specifically for medical applications. We were honored to host an incredible lineup of guests, including Ms. Judith Gerlach, Bavarian State Minister for Health and Care, and Mr. Klaus Holetschek, CSU parliamentary party leader in the Bavarian state parliament. Their support and presence added immense value to our event. We also extend our deepest gratitude to our partners - the Stadt Memmingen (City of Memmingen) and DRF Stiftung Luftrettung gemeinnützige AG, whose collaboration has been instrumental in bringing our vision to life. The event was an overwhelming success, with enthusiastic participation and incredibly positive feedback. Over the last few weeks, we've shared the first glimpses of the #ERC's #eVTOL cabin... but for many of you, a glimpse wasn't sufficient.

Meet Tanja Heilmeier, our energy lead: With a solid background in the automotive industry and a focus on lithium-ion cells and batteries since 2015, Tanja brings a wealth of knowledge to our team. Her PhD research concentrated on predicting the service life of lithium-ion batteries in vehicles during the early design phase using accelerated ageing characterization. Tanja joined #ERC two months after its foundation. Tanja, in collaboration with an experienced external partner, led the development and testing of our first-generation lithium-ion batteries used in our firsts demonstrators. By mid-2022, she took over as the lead of our Energy Cluster, spearheading the development of the entire electrical system for our aircraft.
