Reach your climate targets while realizing significant incremental savings in business travel

Info

eco.mio is the first employee-inclusive software to reach climate targets while decreasing travel costs. A company could simply enforce stricter travel policies to make employees travel greener in alignment with its climate targets. But why enforcing if same results can be achieved by guidance? We are building a comprehensive solution by empowering business travelers to make conscious choices. Instead of booking as if ‘on autopilot’ and mindless of travel budgets and environmental impacts, our gamification model motivates travelers to voluntarily reduce their carbon footprint and spending on business trips. Our unique software can be seamlessly integrated into customers’ existing travel booking systems and is backed by a customizable algorithm. Travel alternatives that are cheaper and more CO2-efficient than the typical default option are highlighted in the booking system with attractive incentives guiding employees to choose more consciously. Here's a quick deep dive: 🌍 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐧𝐞𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧: - Business travel is a significant emissions' contributor; especially in service sectors. - Highly visible to both employees and the outside world. - An effective way to involve employees in corporate sustainability efforts. 🔍 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐬𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐯𝐞𝐥 𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐬: Sustainability practices influence employer attractiveness, as the right approach can set you apart in a crowded market for talent. So, why do 85% of companies fail to set credible targets if there’s such an upside? 💡 𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐃𝐢𝐥𝐞𝐦𝐦𝐚: To implement sustainable measure, and achieve their reduction targets, companies try to avoid travel bans or stricter policies as existing employees value air travel and bonus programs as a matter of prestige. But why risk enforcing if the same results can be achieved by guidance & incentives? 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐲𝐨𝐮 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐝𝐨: ✅ Ask for more transparency and data in the booking process. It’s easier to make informed decisions when you have the data. ✅ Ask for flexibility in your travel schedule. A paid weekend at the destination, rather than flying in on Monday? Not a bad deal for some. ✅ Talk to your co-workers - together, we can move sustainable travel forward! Want to read more of us? Check out our content: ecomio.com/insights.

𝗙𝗹𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗲 𝗼𝗳𝗳 - 𝗵𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼 𝗜𝗖𝗘 🚆 Our partnership with adesso is mentioned four times in their latest sustainability report! Thanks to the successful integration of our eco.mio plug-in, adesso employees now receive deeper insights into their travel behaviour and the environmental impact of their decisions. 🌱 adesso promotes environmentally friendly and conscious travel decisions through a points system that will be further improved in 2024 with new gamification elements. The goal for the upcoming year is to make the switch from air travel to rail travel even more attractive and to reward sustainable travel through targeted initiatives. By cracking the 10,000 employee mark, adesso continued to grow throughout 2023, while air travel remained well below the 2019 level. At the same time, the number of kilometres travelled by train reached a new all-time high. A clear sign that adesso's measures, such as upgrades to first class in ICEs and the awarding of ecoPoints, are having an impact. We are proud to be part of their sustainability journey and look forward to new successes in 2024! 🌟 #GreenMobility #adesso #ecomio #NetZero

🌱 𝐓𝐡𝐫𝐞𝐞 𝐘𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐞𝐜𝐨.𝐦𝐢𝐨: 𝐀 𝐏𝐞𝐞𝐤 𝐁𝐞𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐢𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐝𝐚𝐲 𝐂𝐚𝐤𝐞 🎂 Sometimes, the best things start small, and eco.mio is no exception. What started as a sabbatical project of Katharina Riederer, meeting her incredible co-founders Sarah Benarey & Mario Blatter along the way, developed into the amazing company that eco.mio is today. But it's not just the milestones that make us smile, but the faces behind them. We’ve got a fabulous team of 12 now (and yep, only half of us could make it into the birthday photo — one of the downsides of promoting remote work). A big shoutout to everyone who’s been with us on this journey: from our customers, trusted advisors, investors, and of course, our mios 🌎. Here's to many more years of making the world of business travel more sustainable! 💚 PS: Don’t forget to swipe through to celebrate a few moments from the past year with us.

𝐔𝐧𝐝𝐞𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐝 𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐞 𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐫𝐢𝐨𝐫 🤺 Many of eco.mios customers are re-investing business travel savings generated by their employees for local swamp protection. 𝐖𝐡𝐲 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐢𝐦𝐩𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐭? 🌱 Swamps are gigantic carbon reservoirs, 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐥𝐚𝐫𝐠𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐰𝐞 𝐡𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐨𝐧 𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐝. 🐸 They make an important contribution to the preservation of biodiversity. 🌎 While covering only 𝟑% of the worlds' land area, they 𝐚𝐛𝐬𝐨𝐫𝐛 𝐚 𝐭𝐡𝐢𝐫𝐝 𝐨𝐟 𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐢𝐚𝐥 𝐜𝐚𝐫𝐛𝐨𝐧. 𝐀𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐲 𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐝𝐚𝐧𝐠𝐞𝐫… ❗ European Union produces the second-highest greenhouse gas emissions from the destruction of peatlands and swamps globally. 🏭 When being drained for peat extraction or other industrial use, the carbon bound over thousands of years oxidizes. ⛔ This not only releases huge quantities of CO2 into the atmosphere, but also nitrous oxide (N2O), which is over 300 times more harmful to the climate. That’s why we offer our customers to donate to swamp restoration projects, financed with the savings that they achieve with eco.mio, doing “double-good” for the climate. 𝐖𝐡𝐚𝐭 𝐞𝐥𝐬𝐞 𝐜𝐚𝐧 𝐰𝐞 𝐝𝐨 𝐭𝐨 𝐬𝐚𝐯𝐞 𝐫𝐞𝐠𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐢𝐧𝐭𝐞𝐫𝐧𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐚𝐥 𝐬𝐰𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐬? ✅ Buy only peat-free potting soil (torffreie Blumenerde) ✅ Avoid products with palm oil ✅ Share insights like how crucial the restoration of swamp land is. For our climate and for species conservation. ❤️ #climateprotection #swampprotection #restoration
