As the UN report highlights that global efforts are way off track in tackling climate change, it’s clear that critical areas are still being overlooked—wildfires being a prime example. Two years ago, Dryad Networks published a white paper emphasizing how the devastating impact of wildfires on emissions isn’t given enough attention at COP, and here we are again, with nothing changing. Forest fires, like the record ones in Canada, are creating massive carbon feedback loops, yet the urgency around addressing them remains minimal.
