AI has already proved key to rapidly reducing the time it takes to design, test and evaluate new pharmaceutical products. Our International AI Maturity Model paints a picture of where organizations in different sectors perceive they are on their AI journeys. Sectors such as healthcare or transport are at different levels of engagement with AI, suggesting it may be seen as another source of pressure on the workforce. Given that AI has enormous potential to be a force for good in areas including healthcare, food safety and sustainability, our findings offer a starting point for organizations in different sectors to reflect on where they are on their AI journeys and the direction in which to proceed. BSI's International AI maturity model paints a picture of where businesses in different countries and sectors perceive they are on their AI journeys. We discovered greater engagement with AI in India and China; both countries in which AI has been made a strategic growth priority. However other major economies, including the UK, France and Germany, could be at risk of losing out. Building the appropriate checks and balances could enable organizations worldwide to increase trust and make not just good but great use of AI in every aspect of life.
