We are very happy about the great article from the Universität Regensburg about our success story! 🎉 In the interview, we share exciting insights into our challenges, successes and the path from our foundation to market leadership in France for mosquito control products. 🦟🌍   “How does a mosquito find its victim? And what keeps it away?” Answering these seemingly simple questions was an important topic for Dr. Martin Geier and some of his colleagues at the Institute of Zoology at the University of Regensburg. For more than twelve years, they analyzed a wide variety of scent sources and substances, observed the behavior of mosquitoes in different experimental setups and environments, gradually identified important key factors and thus gained an ever better understanding of the behavior of these dangerous disease vectors. In 2000, Dr. Martin Geier met Dr. Alvaro EIRAS at the International Congress of Entomology (ICE) in Brazil. This was the beginning of a long-term collaboration for applied research and the development of new products. Our specialty is catching mosquitoes (Culicidae), but our BG-Pro trap is also a good tool for catching biting midges (Culicoides) if you use it with the UV light strip. This allows you to collect the midges directly in a beaker with a liquid (e.g. 70% alcohol). It also contains a net that is placed on the suction funnel to prevent larger insects that could be attracted by the UV light from being collected.
