Empowering Young Talents through a Scholarship: Our Working Student Felix is on it! 🚀 As a sponsor of the 'Stiftung Studienfonds OWL', we provide both financial and non-material support to high-achieving and committed students as part of the Deutschlandstipendium program. For a few months now, our scholar Felix has been supplementing his Computer Science Studies at the University of Paderborn with valuable practical experience as a Working Student Data Platform. After receiving the scholarship, he took the initiative himself and proactively asked to join us due to our good reputation in the field of IT. And as soon as we were looking for a suitable candidate, we didn't hesitate to offer it directly to Felix! The eager to learn 19-year-old now supports his 10-person team in the further development of solutions for our new cloud-based Azure data platform. This includes, for example, the development of data governance processes for the maintenance of our components such as databases or Power BI. As a Working Student with us, Felix particularly appreciates the fact that he is always introduced to new interesting topics well and in detail. 𝐖𝐄 𝐂𝐀𝐑𝐄 For our annual Sustainability Round Table in Transport Management, we met with Henkel for a cross-company exchange to discuss sustainable transportation solutions. We had the pleasure of welcoming Yannick Klein, who gave us an insight into Henkel's sustainability strategy using the example of its own site logistics and presented the advantages and disadvantages as well as experiences in the use of alternative drive technologies such as battery electric drives, LNG and HVO100. 🚀Unlocking improvements: Our Application Team Leader Paolo is on it! Paolo, an industrial engineer from Bergamo in northern Italy, joined Arvato immediately after graduating in December 2012. His professional experience until then was rather unrelated to his field of study - he worked as a salesman, math and physics teacher and as a lifeguard before. After more than ten years of experience in different roles at Arvato in Italy, Paolo now takes on responsibility as Application Team Leader. What’s a Application Expert and what does that have to do with logistics? Application Experts are knowledgeable employees regarding a project or software solution within our organization: They test new software, train others or advise them on application issues. As Team Leader, Paolo is, in cooperation with his two collaborators, in charge of all application activities at his site and a daily support to the Operations team, guaranteeing correct and complete data flows. Yes, we absolutely rely on people with IT experience in our warehouses: Paolo’s team has already made a difference during various projects – e.g. client go-lives or hyper care periods. Shown at work and privately, the 39-year-old devoted father of a young son is persistent and not satisfied with little: ”I'm always on the lookout for improvement”, he explains.
