- تستمد اللغة التركية أسماء الأشهر من ثلاث لغات: إما من اللغة اللاتينية، أو شرق المتوسطية (بالإنجليزية: Levantine Arabic) (التي أخذت أسمائها من العبرية و الآرامية)، أو من كلمة تركية أصلية. نشأت أسماء الشهور العربية والعبرية والآرامية بدورها من التقويم البابلي القديم، وبالتالي هي أقرب إلى أسماء الأشهر في التقويم العبري، وتحديداً أشهر: شباط، نيسان، تموز وأيلول. وكانت الشهور البابلية في الأصل شهوراً قمرية، كمثل أشهر التقويم الهجري الإسلامي و كذلك الأشهر العبرية التي تحمل نفس الأسماء حتى يومنا هذا . استخدمت تركيا التقويم الميلادي (الغريغوري) رسمياً منذ عام 1926 على الرغم من أن تواريخ التقويم الميلادي (الغريغوري) كانت قيد الاستخدام فعلياً منذ مارس 1917. وكانت أسماء الشهور من فبراير إلى سبتمبر مُستخدمة من قبل في التقويم الرومي (بالإنجليزية: Rumi calendar) الذي صار مهجوراً الآن، إلى جانب الأشهر الأربعة الأخرى التي كانت تحمل أسماءً عربية وآرامية قديمة. في عام 1945، تم استبدال أسماء الشهور الأربعة تلك بأسماء من أصل تركي. - Τα ονόματα των μηνών στην τουρκική προέρχονται από τρεις γλώσσες: τα λατινικά, τα Λεβαντινικά Αραβικά (τα οποία έλαβαν τα ονόματα από τα εβραϊκά και αραμαϊκά) και από μια γνήσια τουρκική λέξη. Τα αραβικά, εβραϊκά και αραμαϊκά ονόματα των μηνών προέρχονται από το αρχαίο , και ως εκ τούτου είναι παρόμοια με τα ονόματα των μηνών κατά το εβραϊκό ημερολόγιο, ειδικά στους Σεβάτ, Νισάν, Θαμούζ και Ελούλ. Οι αρχικοί βαβυλωνιακοί μήνες ήταν πραγματικοί σεληνιακοί μήνες. Η Τουρκία χρησιμοποιεί την αρίθμηση του γρηγοριανού ημερολογίου επίσημα από το 1926, αν και οι ημερομηνίες του γρηγοριανού ημερολογίου ήταν σε χρήση από τον Μάρτιο του 1917. Τα ονόματα των μηνών από το Φεβρουάριο έως το Σεπτέμβριο είχαν χρησιμοποιηθεί στο εγκαταλελειμμένο πλέον ημερολόγιο Ρουμί, ενώ άλλα τέσσερα διατηρούσαν τα παλιά αραβικά/αραμαϊκά ονόματα. - The month names in Turkish are derived from three languages: either from Latin, Levantine Arabic (which itself took its names from Aramaic), or from a genuine Turkish word. The Arabic-Aramaic month names themselves originate in the ancient Babylonian calendar, and are therefore cognate with the names of months in the Hebrew calendar, specifically Shevat, Nisan, Tammuz and Elul. The original Babylonian months were actual lunar months, as the Hebrew months of the same names are to this day, much like months in the Islamic calendar. Turkey has used Gregorian AD year numbering officially since 1926, though Gregorian calendar dates were in use since March 1917. The names of the months from February to September had been used in the now abandoned Rumi calendar, with the other four still retaining their old Arabic/Aramaic names.
