- D-Side were an Irish boy band established in 2001 by twins Rory and Eoghan MacSweeney, and signed to Edel Records. Edel brought in Kim Glover to manage the band after her success with New Kids on the Block, Ant & Dec (as PJ & Duncan), B*Witched and Let Loose. Glover secured their entry into Japan getting them a recording contract with Avex and worked with them until the end of 2004. They had some success in Japan, the United Kingdom, and Europe, winning 'Best New Band Award' at the Smash Hits Tour in 2002. The group was initially made up of 6 members, Derek Ryan (who performed under the alias Ryan O'Rian), Damien "Dane" Guiden, Elroy Cahill, Damien Bowe and Derek Moran. The band released their first single "Stronger Together" in Ireland only, which reached No. 5 on the Irish charts. The group then prepared to release their second single, "Speechless" across Europe, building on the successes in their home market. However prior to launch two of the original line up, Bowe and Cahill left the band due to disagreements with other band members, however the single "Speechless" was released with the vocals of the original band members. D-Side recruited a new member, Shane Creevey and became a 5 piece, thereafter achieving three top 10 singles in the UK/Ireland and some around Europe. They supported Blue, Westlife and many other groups on tour during 2001 and 2002, before headlining their own live shows, as well as being involved in many charity events such as Soccer Magic, Soccer 6, Children in Need and ChildLine. In 2006, D-Side took part in the international contest "New Wave" in . They released a total of three albums in Japan, as well as a greatest hits compilation. They were signed to the Japanese record label Avex and were managed by John Black at Black Gold Music Management. After their split in 2006, Moran went on to present Milkshake! in 2007, a children's programming brand on Channel 5. (en)
- D-Side est un magazine bimestriel de 100 pages fondé en octobre 2000 à la suite de la scission de la rédaction du magazine Elegy et traitant de la culture underground et de la musique gothiques, indus, electro, new wave, dark wave, etc. Il comprend également un CD sampler d'une quinzaine de titres. Si le magazine voue une majeure partie de son contenu au secteur musical, il inclut aussi des contenus systématiques et développés sur le cinéma et la littérature. Le dernier numéro paraît en septembre 2010 et le magazine disparaît au profit d'une nouvelle publication intitulée Obsküre. En 2021, D-Side revient sous la forme d'une webradio : dsideradio.com, animée par Guillaume Michel et Jean-François Micard. (fr)
