Rich Homie Quan, the influential Atlanta rapper best known for his hit Young Thug collaboration “Lifestyle,” has died at 33 years old.

Fellow Rich Gang member Jacquees and frequent collaborator Boosie Badazz were among the first to share the news, with TMZ later confirming his death. Rumors of an overdose spread online, but no cause of death has been officially reported.

Born Dequantes Devontay Lamar in Atlanta, Georgia on October 4th, 1990, Rich Homie Quan began making a name for himself by kicking off his Goin In mixtape series with I Go In on Every Song in 2012. With a knack for melodic rapping, he helped define an era of Atlanta trap music alongside contemporaries like Young Thug and Future.

Rich Homie Quan scored his first Billboard Hot 100 entry with “Type of Way” from his 2013 mixtape Still Goin In: Reloaded and further raised his profile with a standout appearance on YG’s smash “My N*gga” that same year.

Rich Homie Quan would drop other hits like “Flex (Ooh, Ooh, Ooh)” and “Ride Out” in 2015. His only studio album, Rich as in Spirit, was released in 2018.
