Foto von Deborah Herold

[edit]

--Mirer (talk) 20:06, 24 June 2019 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome, Dear Patroller!

Counter Vandalism Unit

Hi Mirer,

You now have the Patroller right and may call yourself a patroller! Please take a moment to read the updated Commons:Patrol to learn how Patrolling works and how we use it to fight vandalism.

As you know already, the patrolling functionality is enabled for all edits, not just for new-page creations. This enables us to keep track of, for example, edits made by anonymous users here on Commons.

We could use your help at the Counter Vandalism Unit. For example by patrolling an Anonymous-edits checklist and checking a day-part.

If you have any questions please leave a message on the CVU talkpage or ask for help on IRC in #wikimedia-commons.

Keep up the good work. Stumbled across you after seeing this edit and then saw your de.wiki background. No concerns with you patrolling edits here if you choose to. -- ~riley (talk) 07:55, 9 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Thank you @~riley: for your trust in my contributions and sorry for the late answer. The good news are, that I'm already contributing in this area (after studying the policy of course), and I think I will be of regular help there (but won't be a power user there too). Also took notice of Meta. So thanks again and kind regards --Mirer (talk) 03:19, 20 February 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Mirer, Can you please do a cropped version of this file to only show the image of the subject.— Preceding unsigned comment was added by 190.141.139.152 (talk) 22:27, 11 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Unfortunately not ... since this picture hasn't a really free license but more of an "free but"-license, I won't make a cropt of it. Personally I avoid editing and especially cropping these files. Mirer (talk) 12:09, 13 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hi again Mirer, I now that isn't to do a cropped version of File:Sari Maritza CINEGRAF magazine.jpg, but it is possible that can you do a cropped version of this file to only show the actress Sarah Padden (the woman in the middle)?— Preceding unsigned comment was added by 190.141.139.152 (talk) 17:06, 13 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Same thing here ... the picture is not free to show in dewiki (my homewiki). As a result I normally don't crop or edit (sometimes when working on a special theme I do though) them. Mirer (talk) 18:07, 13 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, we're Gameposo. Currently, there are 205 administrators in the public domain of Wikipedia, so the number of administrators seems to be smaller than that of Wikipedia, so I want to use new functions and apply.

There's something I created called New RFA, but I don't know if I can create it, but I added administrator support for now.

Please cooperate so that the people who logged in can vote and become the manager. Gameposo (talk) 07:30, 2 December 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Adding Depict statements

[edit]

I noticed that you added Depict statements to some NFL players the other day. Have you heard of the Depictor tool? It's a super easy way to add Depict statements to Commons photos. Check out this. I am working on getting depict statement for all NFL players. Captain-tucker (talk) 12:35, 6 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Captain-tucker, thanks for the notification ... I just tried it, it makes some fun - maybe I'm coming back to it.
The reason why I added depicts a day after you added them, is that all those pictures arose at my watchlist. Since I don't want to show up there every three day, when another person gets added to the depict statements (there are pictures with more than ten missing depict statements), I try to add all the missing people at once. ;-) It's not as fast as the "game", but it's shortening my watchlist. Regards --Mirer (talk) 14:16, 6 October 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Tee Higgins (50677888797) (cropped).jpg

[edit]

The category says he's 21 Trade (talk) 20:44, 23 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

But you can not see it. The picture shows a Football player with helmet, not much face etc. The depicts should be on topic/specific. Please see Commons:Depicts for more informations. If someone would search for a picture of a "young man"/"Jüngling" (in german), he wouldn't expect to find a picture like this. Mirer (talk) 22:04, 23 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Ana Ularu image, especially on DE

[edit]

Hello Mirer. A few days ago you were good enough to approve my edit replacing the older image on https://de.wikipedia.org/wiki/Ana_Ularu with the newer image, I thought; now I see you actually moved the old image down. That's normally fine, I often do that when I update an image with a better one. But the subject, Ana Ularu herself, really dislikes the older image, and since she donated the better one, she asked to remove the older one completely. So I nominated it for deletion here, Commons:Deletion requests/File:Ana Ularu on HotNews Romania.jpg, and User:Ikan Kekek observed that since it is still in use, we can't courtesy delete it (now I know there is a specific name for this kind of deletion!). Would you be willing to remove the old image from the DE article completely? Would you be willing to comment in the deletion requests discussion? Thank you! Sorry it turned out to be a more complex issue, when I asked, I really did think I was just asking for an autoconfirmed DE editor to click "approve" on my pending edit, that's how it normally works on EN. --GRuban (talk) 14:10, 25 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Sorry, but I don't support wishes of people about their Wiki-Pages. It's not Facebook, the photo is not disgusting or anything like that. So there is NO reason, to delete or even remove it. Mirer (talk) 15:17, 25 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for responding. --GRuban (talk) 16:26, 25 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Wikimedian,

Wikimedia Commons is happy to announce that the 2022 Picture of the Year competition is now open. This year will be the seventeenth edition of the annual Wikimedia Commons photo competition, which recognizes exceptional contributions by users on Wikimedia Commons. Wikimedia users are invited to vote for their favorite images featured on Commons during the last year (2022) to produce a single Picture of the Year.

Hundreds of images that have been rated Featured Pictures by the international Wikimedia Commons community in the past year are all entered in this competition. These images include professional animal and plant shots, breathtaking panoramas and skylines, restorations of historical images, photographs portraying the world's best architecture, impressive human portraits, and so much more.

For your convenience, we have sorted the images into topical categories. Two rounds of voting will be held: In the first round, you may vote for as many images as you like. The top 30 overall and the two most popular images in each category will continue to the final. In the final round, you may vote for just three images to become the Picture of the Year.

Round 1 will end on UTC.

Please provide a link to an appropriate webpage with license information, or ask the author or copyright holder to send an email with copy of a written permission to VRT (permissions-commons@wikimedia.org). You may still be required to go through this procedure even if you are the author yourself; please see Commons:But it's my own work! for more details. After you emailed permission, you may replace the {{No permission since}} tag with {{subst:PP}} on file description page.
