Hello, I'm SHB2000, a nature-lover who's passionate about travel and nature photography. My home wiki is the English Wikivoyage where I am an administrator and bureaucrat, but I consider Commons as my second home content wiki. I mainly crop banners for Wikivoyage, move and categorize files, and enjoy voting in COM:FPC. Though not something I enjoy, I consider cleaning up copyright violations and dealing with freedom of panorama cases essential.
Sometimes, I may randomly check RC and random filters and tags on the hunt for vandals. It sometimes surprises me that vandalism on Commons can go undetected for weeks, if not months or years.
A list of my Wikivoyage page banners can be found at Category:Wikivoyage banners by SHB2000 although a selection of my favorites can be found below under #Favorite banners.
I am a filemover, patroller and a rollbacker on Commons in addition to being an administrator on the English Wikibooks and Meta-Wiki.
(You can change the English dialect seen by changing your sidebar preferences to either British or Canadian English. Defaults to American)

Random travel trivia
[edit]This list is partially copied from voy:User:SHB2000#My records; if I've written "approx", I visited that place when I was ignorant of coordinates.
I had to do some specific measuring for the westernmost, because Vancouver, British Columbia, is east of Point Reyes.
Favorite banners
[edit]Here's just some of my favorite banners that I've cropped. This does not include banners I didn't crop. Banners here are categorized based on letter based on the page name on Wikivoyage in English. French Wikivoyage banners will be categorized based on the English translation. Additionally, the Icelandic letter Þ will be treated as a letter T.

Static maps
[edit]See a full list of all my static maps (png or svg) on Category:Maps by SHB2000, with those specific to Wikivoyage at Category:Wikivoyage maps by SHB2000. Simple minor adjustments aren't included in that category.
-
This was my first attempt at making a static map. See it's usage on voy:en:Mungo National Park
-
A static map for voy:en:New South Wales. This was my first successful attempt at making a region static map.
-
A static map for voy:en:Canberra/Civic. My second attempt at making a static map (which wasn't necessary but I did it anyway).
-
A map for Canberra Central. Wasn't too pleased, but at least it was better than no map.
-
A map for New England (the NSW one).
-
A map for the Mauricie region of Quebec. Not sure whether this is better than the dynamic map though.
-
A map for Southeastern New South Wales. I think this has got to be my favorite map that I've made, as at July 1, 2022.
-
One for Greater Sydney. For some reason, I still like the SE NSW map more than the Greater Sydney map
-
A map of Greater Brisbane. Pleased to say that a derivative of this map was used on https://twinspectors.com.au/contact/
-
A map of Southern Tasmania. Adding Southwest National Park was an interesting experience.
-
A better map for Civic
-
Had a few hours to spare on a Sunday so I made a map for voy:Canberra/Hall
-
The dynamic map on voy:Heard Island and McDonald Islands sucked, so spent an hour and a half making this new map. This eventually also found its way onto a fi.wiktionary entry.
-
For Gold Creek Village on voy:Canberra/Gungahlin
-
For the desolate voy:en:Pulu Keeling National Park. Just made this to practice my mapmaking skills.
-
Not sure how this one looks, but it has a list of future regions if the voy:Hunter were to be regionalized.
-
A nicer map for New England (the NSW one)
-
A map of the GTA; it's a shame that the cities like Mississauga couldn't be labeled, though. It ended up finding some use on https://filtermag.org/overdose-deaths-lower-safe-consumption-neighborhoods/, too.
-
Map of Peninsular Malaysia's East Coast. There were too many roads to draw so I only drew the expressways and the road into Kelantan
-
A quick cheap static map I made for Normandy
-
I wanted to refine my mapping skills and had a bit of time to kill, so ended up making this.
-
For South Australia's "By car" section, something like the one for Victoria.
-
If it wasn't clear from the previous map, the entire reason why I made that map was for this map for the state article.
-
Map of Minas Gerais.
-
Not the greatest for Paraná due to the lack of city labels, but better than nothing.
-
Long time since I've made a static map, this time for Norðoyar/Northern Islands in the Faroes.
-
A rather oversimplistic map of Vágar, if I may say...
-
A replacement of the existing map at Outback New South Wales, this time with regions too.
Quality maps
[edit]All of these are quality images on Wikimedia Commons.
Wikivoyage maps
-
Possibly the most detailed map I've ever made, created to supersede the rather abysmal static map that was used on voy:en:Leeds.
-
One for voy:Tasmania. I've been desiring to create this for months; this also turned out nicely.
-
After two days of tracing, could the map for SE Queensland be the best I've made so far? (funnily enough, it was also used on https://www.railpage.com.au/news/s/untangling-south-east-queensland-s-public-transport)
-
Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia didn't need a static map, but because the dynamic map had few distinctive features, I created this. I think the quality of this matches by map for South East Queensland.
-
My first time drawing a South African map – I must say, the map for KwaZulu-Natal turned out much better than I thought, even though I only spent 5 hours on it.
-
Map of Finnish Lapland – this took me a week, but that was due to juggling with other real-life commitments at the same time (plus, tracing the lakes was literal pain).
