Summary
[edit]DescriptionMJ-James-Reaney.jpg |
English: 'The Sun and the Moon' -- portrait of James Reaney.
The stark contrast of black and white, the strong face, the pock-marked background (right edge of print), suggestive of the surface of the moon, counterpointed by the British Columbia Indian Mask of the sun, even the reflection in the poet's left eyeglass simulating the astronaut's visor, sums up, I think, the recurrently juxtaposed images (the sun and the moon) in Reaney's poetry. |
