Im Jahre 1414 als "Wenig Japons" urkundlich genannt und im Jahre 1633 zu Wenjapons umbenannt. Wenjapons, ein Angerdorf, mit einem Flächenausmaß von 394ha, wurde ca. 1000 Jahre nach Christus besiedelt. Seit 1148 gehört Wenjapons zur Pfarre Japons.
