English: Kira Muratova (born 5 November 1934) is a Soviet and Russian - Ukrainian film director, screenwriter and actress. She was born in 1934 in Soroca, Bessarabia (present-day Moldova). She is known for her unusual and original directorial style. Her films have undergone a great deal of censorship in the Soviet Union.
