22 Formula One races were held during the 1950 Formula One season. Six of these races (the British, Monaco, Swiss, Belgian, French and Italian Grands Prix) counted towards the inaugural FIA World Drivers Championship competition. The other race which counted towards the World Championship was the Indianapolis 500, which was run to AAA/USAC regulations. The World Drivers' Championship winner is Italian Nino Farina with Alfa Romeo.
