Jcb's deletion of those images is correct as pointed out by {{u|Storkk}}. Users may request for undeletion of files at [[COM:UDEL]] and Chaddy is reminded that ANI is not the appropriate venue for such request. They are also advised to refrain from making personal attacks when they disagree with other users. Thus, I'm closing this thread as no admin action required. This administrator unfortunately is incompetent at copyright laws and thus made some wrong deletion decisions (i. e. [[:File:IT Venezia COA.svg]] and [[:File:Alles ausser Schwaebisch.jpg]]). Is A3cb1 pardoned?

The penultimate puppet Manwe12 (talk · contribs) was indefblocked as recently as in April 30. I was mostly out of touch with Commons for ∼1 week, but now see Manwe11 (talk · contribs), a new blazingly evident sock. The sock chats with 1Veertje—a Commons sysop—in her user_talk, accompanied by characteristic telecomitalia.it IPs, obviously by the same master. If some quarters of the Commons community bear plans to admit the long-disruptive user back (possibly under restrictions), then where is respective discussion? Deletion of File:IT Venezia COA.svg appears to have been clearly correct... while a platonic CoA and its blazon description can be obviously PD, any particular instantiation of that CoA in which there had to be creative choices would likely be a separate copyrightable work. In any case, if you disagree with a deletion and the deleting administrator is unwilling to reconsider, the correct venue is COM:REFUND. Threshold of Originality questions are always more difficult, but unless you can provide a court case that something similar would fall below the TOO, File:Alles ausser Schwaebisch.jpg appears to have been a correct call as well, at least when guided by COM:PCP. Jcb can at times be a touch terse, but on the other hand you were equally terse in your plain assertions on his talk page... and terseness is not an actionable offense anyway (unlike, say, simply removing {{No permission since}} tags. Reuse of previously knwon heraldic elements does not apply for a new copright protection. Also do not simple variations of them.
But the point of this request is not the deletions but his threats against me on his discussion page. Yes, I was harsh to him, but this was a simple reaction to his behavior towards me.
And I will also in future replace wrong license tags with the correct ones or remove wrong permission tags. I am doing this work in German Wikipedia since about 11 years as part of the file patrolling team. I know what I do. Chaddy (talk) 18:18, 30 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

This is a board about user problems but not a place where personal attacks like “is incompetent” are to be filed. Nor do we discuss at this board the copyright status of individual files. Jcb took in both cases time to provide his reasonings for the deletions on his talk page. Bold statements in combination with harsh judgements do not really help to keep a talk cordial and within netiquette. @Chaddy: Let's sum up the facts: On 22 May you removed 7 'no permission' tags, while you are not an administrator, and you posted a pedantic but mistaken message at the talk page of @Castillo blanco: . Instead of reverting and reporting your actions, CB started 3 regular DRs, which were closed 7 days later, two by @Christian Ferrer: and one by me. That same day you complained at the user talk pages of both of us. After that you complained in German at the Forum, where @Srittau: explains that there was nothing wrong with the deletion. (Edit conflict) Jcb was concerned about the removal of tags (samples: [2], [3], [4], [5], all diffs point to deleted files which are readable for admins only). You are free to convert a tag to a regular deletion request or to contact whoever has tagged a file but you must not remove tags without being an admin unless the tagged problem is solved by, for example, adding the missing source. --AFBorchert (talk) 21:46, 30 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]
  • I know for a fact my closure of this thread will in itself create another shit storm so I shall refrain from closing!, That aside Jcb was correct in deleting those files and Jcb explained why he deleted them, You either needed to continue the discussion or perhaps asked on the ANI board so another admin could check (I'm not saying Jcb was incorrect but another set of eyes always helps sometimes),
As for the comment - It wasn't meant as a malicious threat - Jcb's native language is Dutch so as such his English isn't going to be spot on but I can certainly say that comment was meant in good faith and not meant in a malicious way,
In a nutshell - Jcb acted accordingly and Chaddy seems to be ignoring everyone - Best course of action would be for this to be closed with Chaddy reminded that making these sorts of silly threads again will result in a block. –Davey2010Talk 21:58, 30 May 2018 (UTC)[reply]

I am writing here to report User:ZH139080 who batch uploads files that are either no source (eg. File:2016146303593295中国书画欣赏 02.jpg, non-personal artwork lacking a source link) or possibly having not enough educational purposes (eg.File:111485325200904026维权之路 11.jpg, image of his letter of complaints) in the name of shangfang (aka w:Petitioning (China)). He claimed that he is an artwork collector who have been treated unfairly by the local government and hopes to gain attention in Wikimedia Commons. Though I am condolent to his situation, however, his batch uploading may violate COM:WEBHOST and COM:PS, and contributes a copyvio. Therefore, I am seeking assistance to properly deal with the user mentioned.

The files the user concerned just outnumbered me, and as the user's problem includes political problems (shangfang), I thought it will be quite controversial if I just nominate these files for deletion, and careful consideration on the Village Pump is needed.
