Deutsch: Außenbahnsteig im U-Bahnhof Cathedral Parkway (110. Straße) an der IRT Broadway-Seventh Avenue Line. Charakteristisch für solche Bahnhöfe der ersten Stunde ist die Säulenreihe unmittelbar an der Bahnsteigkante. Weiter hinten stehen die Säulen plötzlich zurück; dies ist das Ergebnis der Bahnsteigverlängerungen der 1950er Jahre, bei denen schon auf Breitprofil hingearbeitet wurde.
Der Bahnhof zeigt mit Kameras, Monitoren und der neuesten Generation Neonröhren typische Einbauten aus der Zeit nach 1990. Rechts oben ist noch eines der alten, prächtigen IRT-Namensschilder von 1904 zu erkennen. English: Side platform of Cathedral Parkway (110 St.) Station at the IRT Broadway-Seventh Avenue Line. Such a row of supports just in front of the platform edge is somewhat characteristic for an original IRT station. Far behind, they are suddenly set back. This results from the platform extensions during the 1950s, which already had the wider triborough profile in mind. Camera surveillance and the newest generation of fluorescent lights were typical for renovations during the 1990s and 2000s. On the upper right, there is one of the IRT's original splendid station name tablets dating from 1904. |
