Reflecting on a successful #Bio24. I had the honour of participating in various delegations touring Illumina’s San Diego headquarters, hosted at our beautiful Executive Briefing Center (EBC). Delegations came from countries as diverse as Korea, India, UAE, Australia, Italy, Taiwan, Canada, Lithuania, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, France, Brazil and others, reflecting the true global nature of our sector. Many important discussions were had, all about unlocking the power of the genome through partnerships. Discussions ranged from implementation of large national population datasets and biobanks, to ensuring equity of access through reimbursement, the ongoing importance of pandemic surveillance, novel drug discovery through pharma partnerships, monitoring ocean biodiversity, breeding low methane-producing cows and fostering an entrepreneurial startup ecosystem!
