⚡ Electric powered rotor exchange reduces site emissions 🍃 Mammoet exchanged this generator's rotor using our electrically-powered Lift-N-Lock 18001 gantry lifting system. By setting our system on skid tracks, the old generator could be lifted then moved to a waiting temporary platform. Its rotor was then removed using two of the four towers of the Lift-N-Lock. This process was repeated in reverse to re-insert the rotor after the stator was rewound and then re-install the generator in its original position. #Mammoet #ZeroEmission #Power

The world's strongest crane - the SK6000 - has completed testing and is ready for action! At its most strenuous, this process tested the crane to a maximum load moment of 520,000 tonne meters. It is therefore well over one and a half times stronger than the SK350 - which previously held the record. Watch how the team made it happen! #Mammoet #SK6000 #OilGas #Nuclear #OffshoreWind

Mammoet recently provided safe and successful step-by-step support for the modification of the material lock at the Unterweser nuclear power plant in Germany. The work was planned and executed in close cooperation with the operator PreussenElektra and our customer Framatome. This provides the basis for the removal of the steam generators. #Mammoet #NuclearDecommissioning #KKU Want to know the exact details? Read on here: Step 1 Lifting the aircraft deflector - we shared details in an earlier post. Step 2 Removing the front and ceiling concrete elements of the enclosure of the material lock using the portal crane and Mammoet rigging. Step 3 Dismantling of the steel construction platform. Since the platform was firmly attached to the building, individual parts were to be removed first. A mobile crane then lifted the platform, moved it sideways and then lowered it. Our team rotated it 90 degrees to load it for transport. Step 4 Next, the 50t material lock was lifted, lowered, and loaded in one piece using the portal crane and a Mammoet lifting system. Step 5 Finally, the new heavy duty platform bridge was lifted into position with the portal crane. The center of gravity was precisely adjusted using electric chain hoists. A heavy-duty tower with climbing jacks and rollers served as temporary support for a controlled slide to the bearing in the building. 📷 The order of the images corresponds to steps 1 to 5.

🌍 Powering the future with large ring cranes 🌍 Large ring cranes play a central role in the transition to sustainable energy sources. Not only do they assemble turbines, but they also play a crucial part in building the infrastructure needed for offshore wind farms. As part of Cadeler's upgrade of wind turbine installation vessels Wind Orca and Wind Osprey, Mammoet was contracted by GustoMSC to remove the existing 1,200t crane of both vessels and replace them with new 1,600t capacity cranes. This allows them to install the next generation of offshore wind turbines. This upgrade marked a unique collaboration with neighbors GustoMSC, with both companies witnessing the project live from their offices. The work has positioned the Cadeler fleet at the forefront of transport and installation of next-generation offshore wind turbines for years to come. #Mammoet #HeavyLifting

500 people, including many apprentices, are working on the Hugin A utility module at Aker Solutions in Egersund. The 7000 tonnes module is the largest new build project for many years at the yard. In October, the assembly of the module started at the yard when the first two sections were lifted on to the grillage. A major milestone for the project. Hugin A is part of Aker BP’s Yggdrasil development. The Norwegian share of investments in Yggdrasil is approximately 65 per cent. Several hundred Norwegian suppliers are directly involved in Yggdrasil, and the project is expected to contribute to 65.000 full-time equivalents in Norway through development and operation.
