We kicked off this week with the October #KNOVA sprint - we love hearing from forward-thinking professors, labs, and companies that are driving innovation within our ecosystem! DAY 1 – 🤝 We began the day with our "Meet Your Neighbor" session, featuring brilliant presentations by Csilla Miko, Head of Innovation and Laboratory at Comadur SA, along with her team, and by Eric Bouchardy, General Manager, as well as Guillaume DOY, Business Development Director at SIPCHEM InnoVent SA. 📚 We continued by discussing upskilling and reskilling with the EPFL Extension School team: Kate Davey, Commercial Lead, Rigas Hadzilacos, Head of EPFL Extension School, and Miglena Malaj, Business Development Manager. 🧩 Our members had the opportunity to visit the EPFL Additive Manufacturing Workshop AFA (3D printing) and learn more about its commercial potential, thanks to Manuel Leitos, Head of the Additive Manufacturing Workshop. 💡 We ended this dynamic day on a high note with an engaging Think Afterwork session, featuring Isabel Götz (高 怡 美), Head of Research, Scenarios, and Open Innovation at SBB CFF FFS. Isabel delivered an insightful talk, sharing both her professional expertise and academic knowledge in innovation, which sparked great discussions. DAY 2 – The sprint continued with the KNOVA #TechRoadshow, exploring Campus Biotech in Geneva! 🏫 We started with a presentation on Campus Biotech by Danielle Desravines, Operations Director, who introduced us to the innovative projects and opportunities at the campus. The morning continued with a fascinating session led by Niels Lion, Deputy at EPFL Neuro-X, who provided a deep dive into neuroscience innovations happening on the campus, followed by a tour of the laboratories. 🧬 Jon Mark Walls, Business Development Manager, welcomed us to the Wyss Center for Bio and Neuroengineering, where he presented the Center and introduced us to two startups they are supporting. And we learned how FONGIT supports entrepreneurs, thanks to Enrico Bergamini, PhD, Startup Analyst. 🚀 We wrapped up this intense day with presentations from the University of Geneva by Romain Cartoni, Director of the Research and Grants Office, and Roberto Perez, Head of Business Development and Innovation at the Laboratory of Advanced Technology. Thank you to everyone who participated and the Switzerland Innovation Park West EPFL for co-organizing the TechRoadshow! Looking forward to explore more opportunities in November! 🙌 About KNOVA: The KNOVA platform supports companies in nurturing their innovation by leveraging EPFL's research ecosystem while providing the university's start-ups and researchers the opportunity to make a global impact with their technologies.
