3 years in notebooks. 3 years that really shaked me. Last week, I was telling my 8-year old daughter : “Enjoy your age, you are so lucky : every day, you learn and discover new things. This is a chance that does not last when you’re getting older” I was wrong : my experience at dsm- firmenich proves the contrary : out of my different professional experiences, no doubt this 3 year-journey is the most transformative one, the one where I’ve learnt the most. 🔹I’ve learnt what “stepping out your comfort zone” really means; and yet, I’ve lived 7 years in Russia 😊 🔸I’ve learnt patience by observing passionate teams working 3, if not 5 years, on a fragrance development before winning it. 🔹I’ve learnt what is true flexibility, adapting in an ever evolving structure & environment, driven by the obsession to best serve our client needs. 🔸I’ve learnt HOW TO WIN in BtoB. 🔹I’ve learnt how art & science can be so interdependent : the best of creation combined with the best of science to give birth to the most beautiful fragrances. I am proud of our latest report on "Technology in Luxury", released in partnership with Comité Colbert - the French luxury industry association -, which I co-authored with Mathilde Haemmerlé, Charlotte Bouttier, Bénédicte Epinay and Laurent Dhennequin. Drawing on a survey of luxury maisons, combined with multiple in-depth interviews of luxury executives, our report offers a rigorous overview of Artificial Intelligence adoption and ongoing testing across 20 uses cases. While AI adoption by maisons has so far been targeted and quite limited (with fewer than two use cases adopted, on average), each maison is testing or planning more than five additional AI-powered use cases across the value chain, on average. It’s always a calculated risk to have two of your companies work together, but when it clicks it’s a blast ! 💥 Seeing what the COCOLI and the NextMomentum team have achieved together in just 6 months is incredibly rewarding, and a testimony to two of the hardest working and most forward thinking teams I’ve had the luck to work with. In just a few numbers : 6 months +200% increase in conversion value +80% boost in ROAS this year Both the #furniture market and the #secondhand one come with complex challenges when it comes to #paidmedia. Very high competition and tight margins on one hand. Forever changing range of products, based on unique SKUs with even tighter margin on the other hand. And yet... 📈 A massive bravo to both team for what they keep achieving together, and especially to Greta Schindler, Gemma Comabella Noguero, Frank Stehle, Gabriela Valencia and Yann Poulain 🙏

100 days ago, I began my journey of living and working in France. Here are three (of many) things I experienced, appreciated and learnt: - Succesful mobility takes the effort of many parties. Yes, my company Parfums Christian Dior, sponsors and HR partners invested time, effort and money into moving me. And there was a lot of weight that I had to pull as well, from learning a new language and working in a different context to being open to flex to the French administration. - Sometimes navigating change can be disorientating and unexpected around the ‘little things’. One of my first hurdles was adapting to the French AZERTY keyboard. Not something one gets warned about! I felt as though I was a child again, learning how to type. It showed me how much of the way we work is done subconsciously and mostly taken for granted. Similarly, with finding polite conversational words that I don’t think twice about in English, like “no worries”. Thankfully I have understanding colleagues who are sharing a lot with me, even French slang! - To trust my gut. A lot of advice came my way, by people who meant well and cared. The many opinions of others can be inundating. But if there’s one thing I’ve not regretted, is to listen to my intuition. Because the responsibility and consequence of decisions will be mine to live with, and no better opportunity than this fresh start for me to craft the life that I would love here! If you’re in Paris, don’t be a stranger, drop me a note and let’s have a coffee, an apéro or a stroll, and I’ll be happy to share stories (even embarassing, laughable ones) of a Singaporean learning how to adapt to this new environment and culture! #relocation #reflections
