🌍 Terre des hommes is actively contributing to the important process of development of the Committee on the Rights of the Child’s General Comment No. 27 of the on Children’s Rights to Access to Justice and Effective Remedies.
"The General Comment 27 represents a very important opportunity to foster a contemporary agenda on child justice and focus on the main collective objectives for the next period. Upholding a children’s rights narrative across justice systems is of the essence. Collaboration with customary, tribal, indigenous, religious, or informal community-based justice systems is one of the priorities of the GC and Terre des hommes is leveraging its expertise on the topic to contribute to it", says Yann Colliou, PhD, Head of Access to Justice Program at Terre des hommes.
In Egypt, Lebanon, Burkina Faso, Mali, Mauritania, Romania, and Colombia, Terre des hommes is organizing consultations with stakeholders and actors who deal with children’s cases in customary, tribal, indigenous, religious, and other informal justice systems.
Check out the pictures of the consultation that took place in Assiut (Egypt) a few days ago. More to come!
