We convene, educate and advocate for a world in which HIV no longer presents a threat to public health and individual well-being. The IAS has been at the centre of the HIV response from the very start of the pandemic. We unite the global HIV response because progress happens when science, policy and activism come together. Today, the IAS galvanizes the scientific response, builds global solidarity and enhances human dignity for all those living with and affected by HIV. The IAS also hosts the world’s most prestigious HIV conferences: the International AIDS Conference, the IAS Conference on HIV Science and the HIV Research for Prevention Conference.

🌟 What a journey we’ve had at #HIVR4P2024! HIVR4P is the only global scientific conference focused exclusively on the challenging and fast-growing field of HIV prevention research – and this fifth edition in Lima, Peru, has driven key discussions and innovations in the field forward. That is due to the passion and contributions of each one of the more than 1,300 people who took part in-person and virtually, as well as thousands more who followed updates online. To each of you, we say, thank you! Among participants are 203 scholarship recipients, including 108 abstract presenters and 21 journalist fellows. They will take the knowledge they have gained at HIVR4P 2024 back to their 50-plus countries, 40 professions and 180 organizations. The latest evidence and emerging tools from HIV prevention research have been featured in over 60 sessions – including plenary presentations, invited-speaker symposia, oral abstract sessions and satellites – and over 600 posters and e-posters. We’ve also made new friendships and strengthened our global network, fuelling our joint mission to end HIV as a threat to public health and individual well-being. 🤝🏿 We look forward to welcoming you again at #IAS2025, the 13th IAS Conference on HIV Science (ias2025.org), in Kigali, Rwanda, in July 2025!
