Today is my first day as CEO of ABB and I can’t wait to get going. After 25 years at ABB and leading two of our business areas over the past five years, I feel incredibly honored to become the CEO of this great company. Under Björn Rosengren's leadership, we have made our company highly profitable and successful. Bjorn, you’re going to be a tough act to follow! My priority as CEO will be to build on this success and open the next chapter of growth for ABB working closely with our customers and people. With our purpose, talented, empowered teams, and world-class technologies, we have all the ingredients we need. I want to thank our Chairman, Peter Voser, and the rest of the Board for their trust, and all my ABB colleagues for their support and collaboration over many years. As we approach #EarthOvershootDay, we’ll be taking a deep dive into the circular economy, exploring its role in reducing emissions and how we can all close the circularity gap. Our circularity approach considers the entire product lifecycle from design to sourcing, with a focus on resource-efficient production, minimizing virgin or hazardous materials and responsible end-of-life services. Preventing and reducing resource use and reusing materials in a global circular economy are key strategies to protect the Earth’s environment and maintain its capacity to provide for current and future generations.
