Beam test evaluation of electromagnetic calorimeter modules made from proton-damaged PbWO$_4$ crystals / Adams, T (Florida State U., Tallahassee (main)) ; Adzic, P (Belgrade U.) ; Ahuja, S (Sao Paulo, IFT) ; Anderson, D (Caltech) ; Andrews, M B (Carnegie Mellon U.) ; Antropov, I (Ecole Polytechnique) ; Antunovic, Z (Split U.) ; Arcidiacono, R (INFN, Turin ; Moscow, ITEP) ; Arenton, M W (Virginia U.) ; Argiro, S (INFN, Turin ; Moscow, ITEP) et al.
The performance of electromagnetic calorimeter modules made of proton-irradiated PbWO(4) crystals has been studied in beam tests. The modules, similar to those used in the Endcaps of the CMS electromagnetic calorimeter (ECAL), were formed from 5×5 matrices of PbWO(4) crystals, which had previously been exposed to 24 GeV protons up to integrated fluences between 2.1× 10(13) and 1.3× 10(14) cm(−)(2). Cosmology with the Laser Interferometer Space Antenna / LISA Cosmology Working Group Collaboration
The Laser Interferometer Space Antenna (LISA) has two scientific objectives of cosmological focus: to probe the expansion rate of the universe, and to understand stochastic gravitational-wave backgrounds and their implications for early universe and particle physics, from the MeV to the Planck scale. However, the range of potential cosmological applications of gravitational wave observations extends well beyond these two objectives. [...]

Monte Carlo event generators (MCEGs) are the indispensable workhorses of particle physics, bridging the gap between theoretical ideas and first-principles calculations on the one hand, and the complex detector signatures and data of the experimental community on the other hand. [...]

Thermal Model Fits in p-p, p-Pb and Pb-Pb Collisions / Cleymans, Jean (UCT-CERN Res. Ctr.) ; Hippolyte, Boris (Strasbourg, IPHC) ; Paradza, Masimba (UCT-CERN Res. Ctr.) ; Sharma, Natasha (Panjab U.)
Recent work on the particle composition (hadrochemistry) of the final state in proton-proton (p-p), proton-lead (p-Pb) and lead-lead (Pb-Pb) collisions as a function of the charged particle multiplicity (dN ch/dη) is reviewed. It is argued that for high multiplicities (at least about 20 charged hadrons in the mid-rapidity interva) consistent results are obtained in the thermal model..
