Front-end Electronics of the Forward Strip Detector for the ATLAS HL-LHC Upgrade / Garcia Argos, Carlos (Freiburg U.) ; Greenall, Ashley (Liverpool U.) ; Hauser, Marc (Freiburg U.) ; Jakobs, Karl (Freiburg U.) ; Mahboubi, Kambiz (Freiburg U.) ; Parzefal, Ulrich (Freiburg U.) ; Wiik-Fuchs, Liv Antje Mari (Freiburg U.) ; Wonsak, Sven (U. Liverpool (main))
The ATLAS Experiment will upgrade its central tracking detector with an all-silicon Inner Tracker(ITk) for the HL-LHC, comprising pixel and strip detectors. The strip detector is based on siliconstrip sensors, which are read out by low mass, radiation hard circuits carrying custom designedradiation hard ASICs in 130 nm technology. [...]

The ATLAS Experiment will upgrade its inner tracking system for the High-Luminosity-LHCwith an all-silicon system. The strip part will be based on individual modules, constructed bygluing the front-end hybrids directly onto the strip side of the sensors. [...]

Evaluation of the performance of irradiated silicon strip sensors for the forward detector of the ATLAS Inner Tracker Upgrade / Mori, R (Freiburg U.) ; Allport, P P (Birmingham U.) ; Baca, M (Birmingham U.) ; Broughton, J (Birmingham U.) ; Chisholm, A (Birmingham U.) ; Nikolopoulos, K (Birmingham U.) ; Pyatt, S (Birmingham U.) ; Thomas, J P (Birmingham U.) ; Wilson, J A (Birmingham U.) ; Kierstead, J (Brookhaven) et al.
The upgrade to the High-Luminosity LHC foreseen in about ten years represents a great challenge for the ATLAS inner tracker and the silicon strip sensors in the forward region. Several strip sensor designs were developed by the ATLAS collaboration and fabricated by Hamamatsu in order to maintain enough performance in terms of charge collection efficiency and its uniformity throughout the active region. High fluence effects on silicon detectors: An overview of the state of the art of radiation resistant detector characterisation by the CERN RD50 collaboration / Wonsak, Sven (U. Liverpool (main)) /RD50
The CERN RD50 collaboration has the aim to investigate radiation hard semiconductor devices for very high luminosity colliders. This is done by looking into four key aspects: Defect/material characterization, detector characterization, new structures and full detector systems. [...]

Exclusive dimuon production in ultraperipheral Pb+Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{\mathrm{NN}}} = 5.02$ TeV with ATLAS / ATLAS Collaboration
Exclusive dimuon production in ultraperipheral collisions (UPC), resulting from photon-photon interactions in the strong electromagnetic fields of colliding high-energy lead nuclei, $\mathrm{PbPb} (\gamma\gamma) \rightarrow \mu\mu (\mathrm{Pb}^{(\star)}\mathrm{Pb}^{(\star)} )$, is studied using $\mathcal{L}_{\mathrm{int}} = 0.48$ nb$^{-1}$ of $\sqrt{s_\mathrm{NN}}=5.02$ TeV lead-lead collision data at the LHC with the ATLAS detector. Dimuon pairs are measured in the fiducial region $p_{\mathrm{T}\mu} > 4$ GeV, $\eta_{\mu} < 2.4$, invariant mass $m_{\mu\mu} > 10$ GeV, and $p_{\mathrm{T\mu\mu}} < 2$ GeV. [...]

Search for trilepton resonances from chargino and neutralino pair production in $\sqrt{s} = 13$ TeV $pp$ collisions with the ATLAS detector / ATLAS Collaboration
A search is performed for the electroweak pair production of charginos and associated production of a chargino and neutralino, each of which decays through an $R$-parity-violating coupling into a lepton and a $W, \, Z$, or Higgs boson. The trilepton invariant-mass spectrum is constructed from events with three or more leptons, targeting chargino decays that include an electron or muon and a leptonically decaying $Z$ boson. [...]

Search for resonances decaying into photon pairs in 139 fb$^{-1}$ of $pp$ collisions at $\sqrt{s} =$ 13 TeV with the ATLAS detector / ATLAS Collaboration
Searches for new resonances in the diphoton final state, with spin 0 as predicted by theories with an extended Higgs sector and with spin 2 using a warped extra-dimension benchmark model, are presented using 139 fb$^{-1}$ of $\sqrt{s} = $ 13 TeV $pp$ collision data collected by the ATLAS experiment at the LHC. No significant deviation from the Standard Model is observed and upper limits are placed on the production cross-section times branching ratio to two photons as a function of the resonance mass..

Search for new phenomena in events with an energetic jet and missing transverse momentum in $pp$ collisions at $\sqrt{s} = 13$ TeV with the ATLAS detector / ATLAS Collaboration
Results of a search for new physics in final states with an energetic jet and large missing transverse momentum are reported. The search uses proton-proton collision data corresponding to an integrated luminosity of 139 fb$^{-1}$ at a center-of-mass energy of 13 TeV collected in the period 2015-2018 with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. Optimisation of large-radius jet reconstruction for the ATLAS detector in 13 TeV proton–proton collisions / ATLAS Collaboration
Jet substructure has provided new opportunities for searches and measurements at the LHC. Since the first ATLAS studies in Run 1 of the LHC, jet substructure reconstruction has seen continuous development. [...]

Medium-induced modification of $Z$-tagged charged particle yields in Pb+Pb collisions at 5.02 TeV with the ATLAS detector / ATLAS Collaboration
The yield of charged particles opposite to a $Z$ boson with large transverse momentum ($p_{T}$) is measured in 260 ${pb}^{-1}$ of $pp$ and 1.7 ${nb}^{-1}$ of Pb+Pb collision data at 5.02 TeV per nucleon pair recorded with the ATLAS detector at the Large Hadron Collider. The $Z$ boson tag is used to select hard-scattered partons with specific kinematics, and to observe how their showers are modified as they propagate through the quark-gluon plasma created in Pb+Pb collisions.
