Robust Estimates of Track Parameters and Spatial Resolution for Endcap Muon Chamber / Golutvin, I A (Dubna, JINR) ; Kiriouchine, Y T (Dubna, JINR) ; Movchan, S A (Dubna, JINR) ; Ososkov, G A (Dubna, JINR) ; Palichik, V V (Dubna, JINR) ; Tikhonenko, E A (Dubna, JINR)
A robust technique with sub-optimal weight function( M-estimator) was applied to investigate track fitting in cathode strip chambers ( CSC) and determine the CSC spatial resolution. The comparative analysis with the conventional LSQ method was made on simulated data and experimental measurements from the CSC prototype. The obtained results definitely prove a necessity of using robust track fitting for a reliable estimation of muon chamber spatial resolution..
