Optical diagnostic studies to analyse electron cyclotron resonance plasma produced in the GTS-LHC Ion Source / Bhaskar, Bichu ; Kuchler, Detlef (CERN) ; Koevener, Toke Kay Thomas
The GTS-LHC electron cyclotron resonance (ECR) ion source is an integral part of the chain of accelerators at CERN. It produces the heavy ion beams which are accel- erated using a series of accelerators from LINAC up to the LHC. [...]

Results of femtoscopic correlations at CMS / Pradhan, Raghunath (Indian Inst. Tech., Madras) /CMS Collaboration
The two particle correlations as a function of relative momenta of identified hadrons involving KS0 and Λ, and Λ¯ are measured in PbPb collisions at sNN=5.02TeV with the data samples collected by the CMS experiment at the LHC. Such correlations are sensitive to the quantum statistics and possible final state interactions between the particles. [...]

High perveance electron gun with controllable current density / Pikin, A (CERN ; CIEMAT, Madrid) ; Wenander, F (CERN) ; Etxebarria, J (Madrid, CIEMAT)
The possibility of controlling the electron current density in an EBIS without changing the actual beam current looks very attractive because it allows to maximize the ion intensity. Our previous publications [1,2] describe a method of controlling the electron cyclotron motion and non-adiabatic electron gun with variable current density. [...]

Design Margin Comparison of a Sextupole-in-Solenoid and a Closed-Loop-Coil Type Nb-Ti Superconducting ECR Magnets / Yang, Ye (LBNL, Berkeley) ; Ferracin, Paolo (LBNL, Berkeley) ; Troitiño, Jose Ferradás (CERN) ; Juchno, Mariusz (LBNL, Berkeley) ; Benitez, Janilee (LBNL, Berkeley) ; Todd, Damon (LBNL, Berkeley) ; Xu, Lianrong (LBNL, Berkeley) ; Duran, Jaime Cruz (LBNL, Berkeley) ; Arbelaez, Diego (LBNL, Berkeley) ; Shen, Tengming (LBNL, Berkeley) et al.
Third-generation electron cyclotron resonance ion sources (ECRISs) have relied on a combination of sextupole and solenoid fields from Nb-Ti superconductors to produce the magnetic fields required for 28 GHz operation. The VENUS ion source at Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory (LBNL) was the first third-generation ion source optimized for 28 GHz operation, and since that time a similar design has been adopted at other heavy-ion facilities such as RIKEN, GANIL and FRIB. Effect of a nonadiabatic magnetic field on the amplitude of cyclotron motion / Etxebarria Erdoiza, Jone (Madrid, CIEMAT) ; Oliver Amoros, Concepcion Celia (Madrid, CIEMAT) ; Pikin, Alexander (Madrid, CIEMAT ; CERN)
This analysis extends the previously published study of the effect of a nonadiabatic magnetic field on the electron beam for different electron beam currents. Specifically, it presents 2-dimensional maps of relative amplitudes of radial beam oscillations in a space defined by nonadiabatic magnetic field strengths and electron beam currents. [...]
