The Linac4 Source Autopilot
/ Peryt, Maciej (CERN) ; Hrabia, Michal (CERN) ; Noll, Daniel (CERN) ; Scrivens, Richard (CERN)
The Linac4 source is a 2MHz, RF driven, H⁻ ion source, using caesium injection to enhance H⁻ production and lower the electron to H⁻ ratio. The source operates with 800µs long pulses at 1.2 second intervals. [...]

The Multi-Mega-Watt Target Station for the European Spallation Source Neutrino Super Beam
/ Baussan, Eric (Strasbourg, IPHC) ; Bouquerel, Elian (Strasbourg, IPHC) ; Cupial, Piotr (AGH-UST, Cracow) ; D'Alessi, Loris (Strasbourg, IPHC) ; Dracos, Marcos (Strasbourg, IPHC) ; Efthymiopoulos, Ilias (CERN) ; Koziol, Mateusz (AGH-UST, Cracow) ; Lacny, Lukasz J (AGH-UST, Cracow) ; Poussot, Pascal (Strasbourg, IPHC) ; Snamina, Jacek (AGH-UST, Cracow) et al.
One of the next challenges in fundamental physics is to understand the origin of matter/antimatter asymmetry in the Universe. In particular, intense neutrinos could play an important role to elucidate this mystery and better understand the expansion of the Universe. [...]

Status of ESS linac upgrade studies for ESSnuSB
/ Gålnander, Björn (ESS, Lund) ; Collins, Max (Lund U. (main)) ; Eshraqi, Mohammad (ESS, Lund) ; Farricker, Aaron (CERN) ; Martins, Carlos (ESS, Lund) ; Miyamoto, Ryoichi (ESS, Lund)
The European Spallation Source (ESS), currently under construction in Lund, Sweden, is the world's most powerful neutron spallation source, with an average power of 5 MW at 2.0 GeV. In the ESS neutrino Super Beam Project (ESSnuSB) it is proposed to utilise this powerful accelerator as a proton driver for a neutrino beam that will be sent to a large underground Cherenkov detector in Garpenberg, mid-Sweden. Recent Developments with the GTS-LHC ECR Ion Source at CERN
/ Toivanen, Ville (CERN) ; Bellodi, Giulia (CERN) ; Fichera, Claudio (CERN) ; Küchler, Detlef (CERN) ; Lombardi, Alessandra (CERN) ; Maintrot, Marc (CERN) ; Michet, Alice (CERN) ; O'Neil, Michael (CERN) ; Sadovich, Sergey (CERN) ; Tarvainen, Olli (Jyvaskyla U.) et al.
Linac3 is the first link in the chain of accelerators providing highly charged heavy ion beams for the CERN experimental program. The beams, predominantly lead, are produced with the GTS-LHC 14.5 GHz Electron Cyclotron Resonance (ECR) ion source, operated in afterglow mode. [...]

ELENA - From Installation to Commissioning
/ Eriksson, Tommy (CERN) ; Bartmann, Wolfgang (CERN) ; Belochitskii, P (CERN) ; Bojtár, Lajos (CERN) ; Breuker, Horst (CERN) ; Butin, Francois (CERN) ; Carli, Christian (CERN) ; Dupuy, Bruno (CERN) ; Freyermuth, Pierre (CERN) ; Jørgensen, Lars (CERN) et al.
ELENA (Extra Low ENergy Antiproton ring) is an upgrade project at the CERN AD (Antiproton Decelerator). The smaller ELENA ring will further decelerate 5.3 MeV antiprotons from the AD ring down to 100 keV using electron cooling to obtain good deceleration efficiency and dense beams. [...]

Preparation of an Ion Source for an Extra Low Energy Synchrotron
/ Gebel, Ralf (Julich, Forschungszentrum) ; Felden, Olaf (Julich, Forschungszentrum) ; Maier, Rudolf (Julich, Forschungszentrum) ; Mey, Sebastian (Julich, Forschungszentrum) ; Prasuhn, Dieter (Julich, Forschungszentrum)
ELENA is a compact ring for cooling and further deceleration of 5.3 MeV antiprotons delivered by the CERN Antiproton Decelerator (AD) down to 100 keV. Because of the long AD cycle of 100 s, it is foreseen to use a source for protons and H⁻ with a kinetic energy of 100 keV for commissioning and start-ups. [...]

Propagation of Radioactive Contaminants Along the Isolde Beamline
/ Kersevan, Roberto (CERN) ; Ady, Marton (CERN) ; Dorsival, Alexandre (CERN) ; Gottberg, Alexandre (TRIUMF) ; Maietta, Maddalena (CERN) ; Vandoni, Giovanna (CERN)
The vacuum system of RIB facilities is entirely hermetical, with storage of effluents and controlled release to atmosphere after a decay time. In Isolde, distributed primary pumping is sectorized in three parts, but all effluents are conveyed together in a unique tank. [...]
