On the degrees of freedom of R$^{2}$ gravity in flat spacetime / Hell, Anamaria (Tokyo U., IPMU) ; Lust, Dieter (Munich U. ; Munich, Max Planck Inst.) ; Zoupanos, George (Munich, Max Planck Inst. ; Natl. Tech. U., Athens ; CERN ; Heidelberg U.)
We study the degrees of freedom of $R^2$ gravity in flat spacetime with two approaches. By rewriting the theory a la Stueckelberg, and implementing Lorentz-like gauges to the metric perturbations, we confirm that the pure theory propagates one scalar degree of freedom, while the full theory contains two tensor modes in addition. Reduction of couplings in the Type-II 2HDM / Pech, M.A. May (Mexico U.) ; Mondragón, M. (Mexico U.) ; Patellis, G. (Lisbon, CFTP ; Lisbon, IST) ; Zoupanos, G. (Natl. Tech. U., Athens ; Heidelberg U. ; Munich, Max Planck Inst. ; CERN)
The idea of reduction of couplings consists in the search for relations between seemingly independent couplings of a renormalizable theory that are renormalization group invariant. In this article, we demonstrate the existence of such 1-loop relations among the top Yukawa, the Higgs quartic and the gauge colour couplings of the Type-II Two Higgs Doublet Model at a high-energy boundary. A Split-Like Supersymmetric Model from the Dimensional Reduction of an $\mathcal{N} = 1$, 10D, ${{E}_{8}}$ Theory over a Modified Flag Manifold / Patellis, G (Lisbon, CFTP) ; Zoupanos, G (Natl. Tech. U., Athens ; Munich, Max Planck Inst. ; CERN)
We examine a supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model which results from a $10D$, $\mathcal{N} = 1$, ${{E}_{8}}$ gauge theory. The initial theory is dimensionally reduced over the ${{SU(3)} \mathord{\left/ {\vphantom {{SU(3)} {U(1)}}} \right. [...]

In the gauge theoretic approach of gravity, General Relativity is described by gauging the symmetry of the tangent manifold in four dimensions. Usually the dimension of the tangent space is considered to be equal to the dimension of the curved manifold. [...]

Aspects of an $N=1$ split-like supersymmetric model resulting from the dimensional reduction of an $N=1$, 10$D$, $E_8$ gauge theory over a modified flag manifold / Patellis, Gregory (Natl. Tech. U., Athens) ; Zoupanos, George (Natl. Tech. U., Athens ; CERN ; Munich, Max Planck Inst.)
We review a supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model which originates from a 10D, N=1, E(8) gauge theory. The original theory is dimensionally reduced over the SU(3)/U(1)xU(1)xZ(3) space and, after making use of the Wilson breaking mechanism, the resulting 4D theory is an N=1, SU(3)^3xU(1)^2 Grand Unified Theory. Split NMSSM from dimensional reduction of a $10D$, $\mathcal{N}=1$$E_8$ over $SU(3)/U(1)\times U(1)\times Z_3$ / Patellis, Gregory (Lisbon, CFTP) ; Porod, Werner (Wurzburg U.) ; Zoupanos, George (Natl. Tech. U., Athens ; Munich, Max Planck Inst. ; CERN)
We examine an extension of the Standard Model which results from a $10D$, $\mathcal{N}=1$, $E_8$ gauge theory. The theory is dimensionally reduced over a $M_4 \times B_0/ \mathbf{Z}_3 $ space, where $B_0$ is the nearly-Kähler manifold $SU(3)/U(1) \times U(1)$ and $\mathbf{Z}_3$ is a freely acting discrete group on $B_0$ that triggers a Wilson flux breaking, leading to an $\mathcal{N}=1$, $SU(3)^3\times U(1)^2$ effective theory in $4D$. On the Ghost Problem of Conformal Gravity / Hell, Anamaria (Munich U., ASC) ; Lust, Dieter (Munich U., ASC ; Munich, Max Planck Inst.) ; Zoupanos, George (CERN ; Heidelberg U.)

Intertwining noncommutativity with gravity and particle physics / Manolakos, George (Warsaw U.) ; Manousselis, Pantelis (Natl. Tech. U., Athens) ; Roumelioti, Danai (Natl. Tech. U., Athens) ; Stefas, Stelios (Natl. Tech. U., Athens) ; Zoupanos, George (Natl. Tech. U., Athens ; CERN ; Munich, Max Planck Inst. ; Heidelberg U.)
Here we present an overview on the various works, in which many collaborators have contributed, regarding the interesting dipole of noncommutativity and physics. In brief, we present the features that noncommutativity triggers both in the fields of gravity and particle physics, from a matrix-realized perspective, with the notion of noncommutative gauge theories to play the most central role in the whole picture. Reducing the $N$ = 1, 10-d, \(E_8\) Gauge Theory over a Modified Flag Manifold / Manolakos, George (Boskovic Inst., Zagreb) ; Patellis, Gregory (Natl. Tech. U., Athens) ; Zoupanos, George (Natl. Tech. U., Athens ; CERN)
We present a split-like supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model which originates from a 10-d, N = 1, E8 gauge theory. The transition to four dimensions occurs after the dimensional reduction of the initial, higher-dimensional theory over the SU(3)/U(1)2 × Z3 space [...]
