/ Cubiss, J G ; Andreyev, A N ; Barzakh, A E ; Manea, V ; Al Monthery, M ; Althubiti, N A ; Andel, B ; Antalic, S ; Atanasov, D ; Blaum, K et al.
A comprehensive study of the isotope 178 Au has been made at the CERN-ISOLDE facility, using resonance laser ionization. Two long-lived states in 178 Au were identified—a low-spin ground state and a high-spin isomer—each of which were produced as pure beams. [...]

/ Harding, R D (CERN ; York U., England) ; Andreyev, A N (York U., England ; JAERI, Tokai) ; Barzakh, A E (St. Petersburg, INP) ; Atanasov, D (Heidelberg, Max Planck Inst.) ; Cubiss, J G (York U., England) ; Van Duppen, P (Leuven U.) ; Al Monthery, M (York U., England) ; Althubiti, N A (Manchester U.) ; Andel, B (Leuven U. ; Comenius U.) ; Antalic, S (Comenius U.) et al.
A study of the ground states of the laser-ionized and mass-separated odd-odd isotopes 180,182Au was performed using the Resonance Ionization Laser Ion Source, Windmill detection setup and ISOLTRAP Multi-Reflection Time-of-Flight Mass Spectrometer at ISOLDE, CERN. A complex fine-structure α-decay pattern of 180Au was deduced, providing insight into the low-lying levels in the daughter nucleus 176Ir. [...]

(Heidelberg, Max Planck Inst.) ; Herfurth, F. (Darmstadt, GSI) ; Herlert, A. (FAIR, Darmstadt) et al.
The strength of the N = 28 magic number in neutron-rich argon isotopes is examined through high-precision mass measurements of 46−48Ar, performed with the ISOLTRAP mass spectrometer at ISOLDE/CERN. The new mass values are up to 90 times more precise than previous measurements. [...]

Hyperfine-structure constants for the 6s2S1/2 and 6p2P1/2 atomic states of the Iπ=11/2− gold isomers Aum177,191,193,195 have been measured at CERN-ISOLDE, using the in-source laser resonance-ionization spectroscopy technique. From the measured hyperfine constants the differences between hyperfine anomalies for these atomic states have been deduced. [...]

Change in structure between the I = 1/2 states in 181Tl and 177,179Au
/ Cubiss, J G (York U., England ; CERN) ; Barzakh, A E (Kurchatov Inst., Moscow) ; Andreyev, A N (York U., England ; JAERI, Tokai ; CERN) ; Al Monthery, M (York U., England) ; Althubiti, N (Manchester U.) ; Andel, B (Comenius U.) ; Antalic, S (Comenius U.) ; Atanasov, D (Heidelberg, Max Planck Inst.) ; Blaum, K (Heidelberg, Max Planck Inst.) ; Cocolios, T E (Leuven U. ; Manchester U. ; CERN) et al.
The first accurate measurements of the α-decay branching ratio and half-life of the Iπ=1/2+ ground state in 181Tl have been made, along with the first determination of the magnetic moments and I=1/2 spin assignments of the ground states in 177,179Au. The results are discussed within the complementary systematics of the reduced α-decay widths and nuclear g factors of low-lying, Iπ=1/2+ states in the neutron-deficient lead region. [...]

The neutron-rich isotopes 58−63Cr were produced for the first time at the ISOLDE facility and their masses were measured with the ISOLTRAP spectrometer. The new values are up to 300 times more precise than those in the literature and indicate significantly different nuclear structure from the new mass-surface trend. [...]

Binding Energy of 79Cu: Probing the Structure of the Doubly Magic 78Ni from Only One Proton Away

U. ; CERN) ; Althubiti, N A S (Manchester U.) ; Atanasov, D (Heidelberg, Max Planck Inst.) ; Blaum, K (Heidelberg, Max Planck Inst.) ; Cocolios, T E (Leuven U.) ; Herfurth, F (Darmstadt, GSI) ; Kreim, S (Heidelberg, Max Planck Inst.) ; Lunney, D (CSNSM, Orsay) ; Manea, V (CERN ; Heidelberg, Max Planck Inst.) ; Mougeot, M (CSNSM, Orsay) et al.
The masses of the neutron-rich copper isotopes Cu75–79 are determined using the precision mass spectrometer ISOLTRAP at the CERN-ISOLDE facility. The trend from the new data differs significantly from that of previous results, offering a first accurate view of the mass surface adjacent to the Z=28, N=50 nuclide Ni78 and supporting a doubly magic character. ISOLTRAP's multi-reflection time-of-flight mass separator/spectrometer
/ Wolf, R N ; Wienholtz, F ; Atanasov, D ; Beck, D ; Blaum, K ; Borgmann, Ch ; Herfurth, F ; Kowalska, M (CERN) ; Kreim, S ; Litvinov, Yu A et al.
The online precision mass spectrometer ISOLTRAP at ISOLDE/CERN was recently upgraded by adding a multi-reflection time-of-flight mass separator/spectrometer (MR-ToF MS) between the linear radio-frequency ion trap and the two Penning traps already in place. As a mass separator, the MR-ToF device has improved significantly ISOLTRAP's capability of purification of contaminated ion beams. [...]
