Wash-in leptogenesis after axion inflation
/ Domcke, Valerie (CERN) ; Kamada, Kohei (Tokyo U., RESCEU) ; Mukaida, Kyohei (KEK, Tsukuba ; Sokendai, Tsukuba) ; Schmitz, Kai (CERN ; Munster U.) ; Yamada, Masaki (Tohoku U. ; Tohoku U., Astron. Inst.)
CP violation and the violation of baryon-minus-lepton number B-L do not necessarily have to occur simultaneously in order to accomplish successful leptogenesis. Instead, it suffices if new CP-violating interactions at high energies result in primordial charge asymmetries, which are then reprocessed into a nonvanishing B-L asymmetry by right-handed neutrinos (RHNs) at lower energies. New Constraint on Primordial Lepton Flavor Asymmetries

A chiral chemical potential present in the early universe can source helical hypermagnetic fields through the chiral plasma instability. If these hypermagnetic fields survive until the electroweak phase transition, they source a contribution to the baryon asymmetry of the universe. [...]

Wash-In Leptogenesis
/ Domcke, Valerie (CERN ; EPFL, Lausanne, LPPC) ; Kamada, Kohei (Tokyo U., RESCEU) ; Mukaida, Kyohei (CERN ; DESY) ; Schmitz, Kai (CERN) ; Yamada, Masaki (Tohoku U., IIAIR ; Tohoku U.)
We present a leptogenesis mechanism based on the standard type-I seesaw model that successfully operates at right-handed-neutrino masses as low as a few 100 TeV. This mechanism, which we dub "wash-in leptogenesis", does not require any CP violation in the neutrino sector and can be implemented even in the regime of strong wash-out. [...]

On the preheating in a scale invariant UV extension of Higgs inflation
/ Kamada, Kohei (speaker)
Higgs inflation with the nonminimal coupling to gravity \xi H^2 R is the unique model
to realize inflation driven by the Standard Model Higgs field in a classically scale invariant way.
However, the reheating in that model is not understood well yet.
In particular, in the so-called “non-critical” regime, it turned out that there are violent instabilities
in the longitudinal mode at very high energy scales. [...]

Measurement of non-equilibrium carriers dynamics in Ce-doped YAG, LuAG and GAGG crystals with and without Mg-codoping
/ Lucchini, M T ; Buganov, O ; Auffray, E (CERN) ; Bohacek, P ; Korjik, M ; Kozlov, D ; Nargelas, S ; Nikl, M ; Tikhomirov, S ; Tamulaitis, G et al.
Non-linear absorption spectroscopy in pump and probe configuration has been used to test the population of non-equilibrium carriers in Ce-doped Y$_{3}$Al$_{5}$O_${12}$ (YAG), Lu3Al5O12 (LuAG), and Gd3AlxGa(5-x)O12 (GAGG) crystals with and without codoping by Mg2+ ions. A faster rise time of the induced optical density has been observed in all crystals codoped with Mg with respect to that in Mg-free samples. [...]

Timing capabilities of garnet crystals for detection of high energy charged particles

Particle detectors at future collider experiments will operate at high collision rates and thus will have to face high pile up and a harsh radiation environment. Precision timing capabilities can help in the reconstruction of physics events by mitigating pile up effects. [...]

Inorganic scintillators with high density and high light yield are of major interest for applications in medical imaging and high energy physics detectors. In this work, the optical and scintillation properties of Mg co-doped Ce:Gd3Al2Ga3O12 crystals, grown using Czochralski technique, have been investigated and compared with Ce:Gd3Al2Ga3O12 ones prepared with identical technology. A Minimal Supersymmetric Model of Particle Physics and the Early Universe
/ Buchmüller, W (DESY) ; Domcke, V (DESY) ; Kamada, K (DESY) ; Schmitz, K (Tokyo U., IPMU)
We consider a minimal supersymmetric extension of the Standard Model, with right-handed neutrinos and local $B$$-$$L$, the difference between baryon and lepton number, a symmetry which is spontaneously broken at the scale of grand unification. To a large extent, the parameters of the model are determined by gauge and Yukawa couplings of quarks and leptons. [...]
