CaloCube: an innovative homogeneous calorimeter for the next-generation space experiments

The direct measurement of the cosmic-ray spectrum, up to the knee region, is one of the instrumental challenges for next generation space experiments. The main issue for these measurements is a steeply falling spectrum with increasing energy, so the physics performance of the space calorimeters are primarily determined by their geometrical acceptance and energy resolution. Characterisation of irradiated thin silicon sensors for the CMS phase II pixel upgrade
/ Adam, W (Vienna, OAW) ; Bergauer, T (Vienna, OAW) ; Brondolin, E (Vienna, OAW) ; Dragicevic, M (Vienna, OAW) ; Friedl, M (Vienna, OAW) ; Frühwirth, R (Vienna, OAW) ; Hoch, M (Vienna, OAW) ; Hrubec, J (Vienna, OAW) ; König, A (Vienna, OAW) ; Steininger, H (Vienna, OAW) et al.
/Tracker Group
The high luminosity upgrade of the Large Hadron Collider, foreseen for 2026, necessitates the replacement of the CMS experiment’s silicon tracker. The innermost layer of the new pixel detector will be exposed to severe radiation, corresponding to a 1 MeV neutron equivalent fluence of up to $\Phi _{eq} = 2 \times 10^{16}$ cm$^{-2}$ , and an ionising dose of ${\approx } 5$ MGy after an integrated luminosity of 3000 fb$^{-1}$ . P-Type Silicon Strip Sensors for the new CMS Tracker at HL-LHC
/ Adam, W (Vienna, OAW) ; Bergauer, T (Vienna, OAW) ; Brondolin, E (Vienna, OAW) ; Dragicevic, M (Vienna, OAW) ; Friedl, M (Vienna, OAW) ; Frühwirth, R (Vienna, OAW) ; Hoch, M (Vienna, OAW) ; Hrubec, J (Vienna, OAW) ; König, A (Vienna, OAW) ; Steininger, H (Vienna, OAW) et al.
/CMS
The upgrade of the LHC to the High-Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC) is expected to increase the LHC design luminosity by an order of magnitude. This will require silicon tracking detectors with a significantly higher radiation hardness. [...]

The High Luminosity LHC (HL-LHC) is a project to increase the luminosity of the Large Hadron Collider to 5 · 1034 cm-2 s-1. The CMS experiment at CERN is planning a major upgrade in order to cope with an expected average number of overlapping collisions per bunch crossing of 140. [...]

Test Beam Performance Measurements for the Phase I Upgrade of the CMS Pixel Detector
/ Dragicevic, M. (Vienna, OAW) ; Friedl, M. (Vienna, OAW) ; Hrubec, J. (Vienna, OAW) ; Steininger, H. (Vienna, OAW) ; Gädda, A. (Helsinki Inst. of Phys.) ; Härkönen, J. A new pixel detector for the CMS experiment is being built, owing to the instantaneous luminosities anticipated for the Phase I Upgrade of the LHC. The new CMS pixel detector provides four-hit tracking while featuring a reduced material budget as well as new cooling and powering schemes. [...]
