Several different shell type coils were made by using the 'wind-and-react' technique, installed in a mirror magnet configuration and tested at Fermilab. The results revealed that the previously suspect splice technique is adequate and is not responsible for the quench performance limitation. [...]

Field quality measurements and analysis of the LARP technology quadrupole models / LARP Collaboration
One of the US-LHC accelerator research program goals is to develop and prove the design and technology of Nb$_3$Sn quadrupoles for an upgrade of the LHC Interaction Region (IR) inner triplets.
