Within the ATLAS detector, the Trigger and Data Acquisition system is responsible for the online processing of data streamed from the detector during collisions at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN. The online farm is composed of ~4000 servers processing the data read out from ~100 million detector channels through multiple trigger levels. [...]

Determination of jet calibration and energy resolution in proton-proton collisions at $\sqrt{s}$ = 8 TeV using the ATLAS detector / ATLAS Collaboration
The jet energy scale, jet energy resolution, and their systematic uncertainties are measured for jets reconstructed with the ATLAS detector in 2012 using proton-proton data produced at a centre-of-mass energy of 8 TeV with an integrated luminosity of 20 fb$^{-1}$. Jets are reconstructed from clusters of energy depositions in the ATLAS calorimeters using the anti-$k_t$ algorithm. [...]

Comparison between simulated and observed LHC beam backgrounds in the ATLAS experiment at $E_{\rm beam} = 4$ TeV / ATLAS Collaboration
Results of dedicated Monte Carlo simulations of beam-induced background (BIB) in the ATLAS experiment at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) are presented and compared with data recorded in 2012. During normal physics operation this background arises mainly from scattering of the 4 TeV protons on residual gas in the beam pipe. [...]
