/ Foussat, Arnaud (CERN) ; Bragin, Alexey (Novosibirsk, IYF) ; Ferlin, Gerard (CERN) ; Kirby, Glyn (CERN) ; Kolehmainen, Antti (CERN) ; Nikiforov, Danila (Novosibirsk, IYF) ; Pavliuchenko, Vadim (Novosibirsk, IYF) ; Perini, Diego (CERN) ; Petrone, Carlo (CERN) ; Redaelli, Stefano (CERN) et al.
The Hollow Electron Lens (HEL) units are part of the upgrade baseline of the High-Luminosity LHC accelerator (HL-LHC) and will be installed in the machine ring at point P4 on each counter-rotating LHC proton beamline during a long shutdown in 2025-2027 at CERN. The main goal is to improve the collimation system performance by controlling beam energy loss in the beam halo. [...]

Electron dynamics for high-intensity hollow electron beams
/ Rossi, A (CERN) ; Nikiforov, D (Novosibirsk, IYF) ; Arsentyeva, M (Novosibirsk, IYF) ; Barnyakov, A (Novosibirsk, IYF) ; Levichev, A (Novosibirsk, IYF)
Hollow Electron Lenses (HEL) will be installed at the High Luminosity Large Hadron Collider to provide a continuous and controlled depletion of beam halo particles by interaction with a superimposed hollow electron beam, of intensity as high as 5 A, and radii 1.1–2.2 mm for 7 TeV LHC operations. In this paper, issues related to the propagation of high intensity hollow electron beams are discussed and the simulations of the electron beam dynamics with feedback to the HEL design are presented. Overall Injection Strategy for FCC-ee
/ Ogur, Salim (CERN) ; Aiba, Masamitsu (PSI, Villigen) ; Antoniou, Fanouria (CERN) ; Barnyakov, Alexey (Novosibirsk, IYF) ; Chaikovska, Iryna (Orsay, LAL) ; Charles, Tessa (CERN) ; Chehab, Robert (Orsay, LAL) ; Etisken, Ozgur (Ankara U.) ; Furukawa, Kazuro (KEK, Tsukuba) ; Härer, Bastian (CERN) et al.
The Future Circular electron-positron Collider (FCC-ee) requires fast cycling injectors with very low extraction emittances to provide and maintain extreme luminosities at center of mass energy varying between 91.2-385 GeV in the collider. For this reason, the whole injector complex table is prepared by putting into consideration the minimum fill time from scratch, bootstrapping, transmission efficiency as well as store time of the beams in synchrotrons to approach equilibrium emittances. The Future Circular Collider-ee aims to get high luminosity which mainly relies upon high charge and low geometric emittance in the collider. The FCC-ee is a future project of CERN to operate as Z, W, H and tt factories with varying energies between 45.6 to 175 GeV. [...]

Progress with Long-Range Beam-Beam Compensation Studies for High Luminosity LHC

Long-range beam-beam (LRBB) interactions can be a source of emittance growth and beam losses in the LHC during physics and will become even more relevant with the smaller '* and higher bunch intensities foreseen for the High Luminosity LHC upgrade (HL-LHC), in particular if operated without crab cavities. Both beam losses and emittance growth could be mitigated by compensat-ing the non-linear LRBB kick with a correctly placed current carrying wire. [...]
