A Test Bench for Characterizing Electron Cooler Components at up to -80 kVDC / Khatri, Ghanshyambhai (CERN) ; Cenede, Jean (CERN) ; Frassier, Alexandre (CERN) ; Tranquille, Gerard (CERN)
During the upcoming Long Shutdown 3 (LS3), the electron cooler of CERN’s Antiproton Decelerator (AD) will be replaced by a new electron cooler. The present electron cooler operates at the maximum energy of about 27keV. [...]

Development of high-power electron gun and collector for the new antiproton decelerator electron cooler / Khatri, Ghanshyambhai (CERN) ; Frassier, Alexandre (CERN) ; Tranquille, Gerard (CERN) ; Cenede, Jean (CERN)
The electron cooler of the Antiproton Decelerator (AD) at CERN was initially developed for the Initial Cooling Experiment in 1979. It was subsequently adapted for use at LEAR and is currently employed in the AD. [...]

Impedance reduction of the beam gas ionization monitors for the CERN SPS / Bursali, Hikmet (CERN) ; Andreazza, William (CERN) ; Khatri, Ghanshyambhai (CERN) ; Ramos Garcia, Maria Teresa (CERN) ; Storey, James (CERN) ; Vollenberg, Wil (CERN) ; Vollinger, Christine (CERN)
The beam gas ionization monitors (BGIs) are non-destructive instruments to measure the transverse beam profiles. With the goal to double the beam intensity in the injector chain for the High-Luminosity Large Hadron Collider (HL-LHC), any element contributing to the overall beam coupling impedance requires an in-depth impedance evaluation from the design stage. [...]

Performance of the Ion Chain at the CERN Injector Complex and Transmission Studies During the 2023 Slip Stacking Commissioning / Slupecki, Maciej (CERN) ; Albright, Simon (CERN) ; Alemany-Fernández, Reyes (CERN) ; Angoletta, Maria Elena (CERN) ; Argyropoulos, Theodoros (CERN) ; Bartosik, Hannes (CERN) ; Baudrenghien, Philippe (CERN) ; Bellodi, Giulia (CERN) ; Bozzolan, Michele (CERN) ; Bruce, Roderik (CERN) et al.
The 2023 run has been decisive for the LHC Ion Injector Complex. It demonstrated the capability of producing full trains of momentum slip stacked lead ions in the SPS. [...]

Low-Energy Negative Ion Injection Beamline for Experiments with Antiprotonic Atoms at AEgIS / Rodin, Volodymyr (U. Liverpool (main) ; Cockcroft Inst. Accel. Sci. Tech.) ; Cerchiari, Giovanni (Innsbruck U.) ; Doser, Michael (CERN) ; Farricker, Aaron (U. Liverpool (main)) ; Khatri, Ghanshyambhai (CERN) ; Kornakov, Georgy (Warsaw U. of Tech. (main)) ; Welsch, Carsten (U. Liverpool (main) ; Cockcroft Inst. Accel. Sci. Tech.)
Interaction of low-energy antiprotons with nuclear targets provided fundamental knowledge about proton and neutron densities of many nuclei through the capture process, cascade on lower electron orbits, and annihilation with the nucleon. The expelled electrons produce X-rays and with the recoil particles after annihilation, thus, a sufficient amount of information can be obtained about this interaction. [...]
