The quest of CMB spectral distortions to probe the scalar-induced gravitational wave background interpretation in PTA data / Tagliazucchi, Matteo (Bologna U. ; Bologna Observ.) ; Braglia, Matteo (Bologna Observ. ; New York U., CCPP) ; Finelli, Fabio (Bologna Observ. ; INFN, Bologna) ; Pieroni, Mauro (CERN)
Gravitational Waves (GW) sourced by second-order primordial curvature fluctuations are among the favoured models fitting the recent Pulsar Timing Array (PTA) measurement of a Stochastic GW Background (SGWB). [...]

We forecast the scientific capabilities to improve our understanding of cosmic inflation of CORE, a proposed CMB space satellite submitted in response to the ESA fifth call for a medium-size mission opportunity. The CORE satellite will map the CMB anisotropies in temperature and polarization in 19 frequency channels spanning the range 60-600 GHz. [...]

The Polarized Radiation Imaging and Spectroscopy Mission / PRISM Collaboration
PRISM (Polarized Radiation Imaging and Spectroscopy Mission) was proposed to ESA in May 2013 as a large-class mission for investigating within the framework of the ESA Cosmic Vision program a set of important scientific questions that require high resolution, high sensitivity, full-sky observations of the sky emission at wavelengths ranging from millimeter-wave to the far-infrared. PRISM's main objective is to explore the distant universe, probing cosmic history from very early times until now as well as the structures, distribution of matter, and velocity flows throughout our Hubble volume [...]

Single-field inflation constraints from CMB and SDSS data / Finelli, Fabio (IASF, Bologna ; INFN, Bologna) ; Hamann, Jan (Aarhus U.) ; Leach, Samuel M. (SISSA, Trieste ; INFN, Trieste) ; Lesgourgues, Julien (CERN ; LPHE, Lausanne ; Annecy, LAPTH)
We present constraints on canonical single-field inflation derived from WMAP five year, ACBAR, QUAD, BICEP data combined with the halo power spectrum from SDSS LRG7. Models with a non-scale-invariant spectrum and a red tilt n_s < 1 are now preferred over the Harrison-Zel'dovich model (n_s = 1, tensor-to-scalar ratio r = 0) at high significance. [...]

The cosmic microwave background temperature bispectrum from scalar perturbations induced by primordial magnetic fields / Caprini, Chiara (Saclay) ; Finelli, Fabio (Bologna Observ. ; INFN, Bologna) ; Paoletti, Daniela (INFN, Ferrara ; Bologna Observ.) ; Riotto, Antonio (CERN ; INFN, Padova)
We evaluate the angular bispectrum of the CMB temperature anisotropy at large angular scale due to a stochastic background of primordial magnetic fields. The shape of non-Gaussianity depends on the spectral index of the magnetic field power spectrum and is peaked in the squeezed configuration for a scale-invariant magnetic spectrum. [...]

CMBPol Mission Concept Study: Probing Inflation with CMB Polarization / Baumann, Daniel (Harvard U., Phys. Dept. ; Harvard U. ; Princeton U.) ; Jackson, Mark G. (Fermilab ; Leiden U.) ; Adshead, Peter (Yale U.) ; Amblard, Alexandre (UC, Irvine) ; Ashoorioon, Amjad (Michigan U.) ; Bartolo, Nicola (Padua U.) ; Bean, Rachel ; Beltran, Maria (Chicago U., KICP) ; de Bernardis, Francesco (Rome U.) ; Bird, Simeon (Cambridge U.) et al.
We summarize the utility of precise cosmic microwave background (CMB) polarization measurements as probes of the physics of inflation. We focus on the prospects for using CMB measurements to differentiate various inflationary mechanisms. [...]
