Tests of General Relativity with GWTC-3 / LIGO Scientific Collaboration
The ever-increasing number of detections of gravitational waves (GWs) from compact binaries by the Advanced LIGO and Advanced Virgo detectors allows us to perform ever-more sensitive tests of general relativity (GR) in the dynamical and strong-field regime of gravity. [...]

Search for Subsolar-Mass Binaries in the First Half of Advanced LIGO’s and Advanced Virgo’s Third Observing Run / LIGO Scientific Collaboration
We report on a search for compact binary coalescences where at least one binary component has a mass between 0.2 $M_\odot$ and 1.0 $M_\odot$ in Advanced LIGO and Advanced Virgo data collected between 1 April 2019 1500 UTC and 1 October 2019 1500 UTC. We extend previous analyses in two main ways: we include data from the Virgo detector and we allow for more unequal mass systems, with mass ratio $q \geq 0.1$. [...]

First joint observation by the underground gravitational-wave detector KAGRA with GEO 600 / KAGRA Collaboration
We report the results of the first joint observation of the KAGRA detector with GEO600. KAGRA is a cryogenic and underground gravitational-wave detector consisting of a laser interferometer with three-kilometer arms, and located in Kamioka, Gifu, Japan. [...]

Cosmic Ray Background Removal With Deep Neural Networks in SBND / SBND Collaboration
In liquid argon time projection chambers exposed to neutrino beams and running on or near surface levels, cosmic muons and other cosmic particles are incident on the detectors while a single neutrino-induced event is being recorded. In practice, this means that data from surface liquid argon time projection chambers will be dominated by cosmic particles, both as a source of event triggers and as the majority of the particle count in true neutrino-triggered events. [...]

Construction of precision wire readout planes for the Short-Baseline Near Detector (SBND) / SBND Collaboration
The Short-Baseline Near Detector time projection chamber is unique in the design of its charge readout planes. These anode plane assemblies (APAs) have been fabricated and assembled to meet strict accuracy and precision requirements: wire spacing of 3 mm +/- 0.5 mm and wire tension of 7 N +/- 1 N across 3,964 wires per APA, and flatness within 0.5 mm over the 4 m +/- 2.5 m extent of each APA. Stochastic Cooling Developments for the Collector Ring at FAIR / Dimopoulou, C (Darmstadt, GSI) ; Barker, D (Darmstadt, GSI) ; Böhm, R (Darmstadt, GSI) ; Hettrich, R (Darmstadt, GSI) ; Maier, W (Darmstadt, GSI) ; Peschke, C (Darmstadt, GSI) ; Stuhl, A (Darmstadt, GSI) ; Wunderlich, S (Darmstadt, GSI) ; Thorndahl, L (CERN)
A Status report on the ongoing developments for the demanding stochastic cooling system of the Collector Ring is given. The system operates in the frequency band 1-2 GHz, it has to provide fast 3D cooling of antiproton, rare isotope (RIBs) and stable heavy ion beams. [...]

We report on the design of a Faltin type pickup for the stochastic pre-cooling of rare isotope beams at 740 MeV/u, using a bandwidth of 1-2 GHz, for the Collector Ring (CR) in the FAIR project at GSI. The design difficulties inherent in Faltin rails at these frequencies are described. [...]

Design of the Palmer pickup for stochastic pre-cooling of heavy ions in the CR / Barker, D J (Darmstadt, GSI) ; Dimopoulou, C (Darmstadt, GSI) ; Peschke, C (Darmstadt, GSI) ; Thorndahl, L (CERN)
We report on the design of a Faltin type pickup for the stochastic cooling of rare isotope beams (RIBs), using a bandwidth of 1–2 GHz, for the Collector Ring (CR) at GSI. Through HFSS simulations using an eigenmode solver, the impedance and signal output phases are calculated and presented..
