Quantum Computing for High-Energy Physics : State of the Art and Challenges / Di Meglio, Alberto (CERN) ; Jansen, Karl (DESY, Zeuthen ; Cyprus Inst.) ; Tavernelli, Ivano (IBM, Zurich) ; Alexandrou, Constantia (Cyprus U. ; Cyprus Inst.) ; Arunachalam, Srinivasan (IBM Watson Res. Quantum computers offer an intriguing path for a paradigmatic change of computing in the natural sciences and beyond, with the potential for achieving a so-called quantum advantage, namely a significant (in some cases exponential) speed-up of numerical simulations. The rapid development of hardware devices with various realizations of qubits enables the execution of small scale but representative applications on quantum computers. [...]

Quark and gluon momentum fractions in the pion from $N_f=2+1+1$ lattice QCD / Extended Twisted Mass Collaboration
We perform the first full decomposition of the pion momentum into its gluon and quark contributions. We employ an ensemble generated by the Extended Twisted Mass Collaboration with $N$$_f$=2 + 1 +1 Wilson twisted mass clover fermions at maximal twist tuned to reproduce the physical pion mass. [...]

Lattice continuum-limit study of nucleon quasi-PDFs / Alexandrou, Constantia (Cyprus U. ; Cyprus Inst.) ; Cichy, Krzysztof (Mickiewicz U., Poznan) ; Constantinou, Martha (Temple U.) ; Green, Jeremy R. The quasi-PDF approach provides a path to computing parton distribution functions (PDFs) using lattice QCD. This approach requires matrix elements of a power-divergent operator in a nucleon at high momentum and one generically expects discretization effects starting at first order in the lattice spacing $a$. Parton distribution functions of $\Delta^+$ on the lattice / Chai, Yahui (Peking U.) ; Li, Yuan (Peking U.) ; Xia, Shicheng (Peking U.) ; Alexandrou, Constantia (Cyprus Inst. ; Cyprus U.) ; Cichy, Krzysztof (Mickiewicz U., Poznan ; CERN) ; Constantinou, Martha (Temple U.) ; Feng, Xu (Peking U. ; Peking U., Beijing ; CICQM, Beijing ; Peking U., CHEP) ; Hadjiyiannakou, Kyriakos (Cyprus Inst.) ; Jansen, Karl (NIC, Zeuthen) ; Koutsou, Giannis (Cyprus Inst.) et al.
We present results for renormalized matrix elements related to the unpolarized quasi-distribution function of the $\Delta^+$ baryon making use of the large momentum effective theory. Two ensembles of $N_f=2+1+1$ twisted mass fermions with a clover term and pion masses of 250 MeV and 330 MeV are analyzed. [...]

Investigating efficient methods for computing four-quark correlation functions / Abdel-Rehim, Abdou (SUNY, Utica/Rome ; Cyprus Inst.) ; Alexandrou, Constantia (Cyprus Inst. ; Cyprus U.) ; Berlin, Joshua (Frankfurt U.) ; Dalla Brida, Mattia (INFN, Milan Bicocca ; Milan Bicocca U.) ; Finkenrath, Jacob (Cyprus Inst.) ; Wagner, Marc (Frankfurt U.)
We discuss and compare the efficiency of various methods, combinations of point-to-all propagators, stochastic timeslice-to-all propagators, the one-end trick and sequential propagators, to compute two-point correlation functions of two-quark and four-quark interpolating operators of different structure including quark-antiquark type, mesonic molecule type, diquark-antidiquark type and two-meson type. Although we illustrate our methods in the context of the $a_0(980)$, they can be applied for other multi-quark systems, where similar diagrams appear. [...]
