A Compact Inverse Compton Scattering Source Based on X-band Technology and Cavity-enhanced High Average Power Ultrafast Lasers / Latina, Andrea (CERN) ; Cormier, Eric (LP2N, Bordeaux) ; Corsini, Roberto (CERN) ; Dyks, Luke (CERN) ; Granados, Eduardo (CERN) ; Grudiev, Alexej (CERN) ; Mușat, Vlad (CERN) ; Santarelli, Giorgio (LP2N, Bordeaux) ; Stapnes, Steinar (CERN) ; Wang, Ping (CERN) et al.
A high-pulse-current photoinjector followed by a short high-gradient X-band linac and a Fabry-Pérot enhancement cavity are considered as a driver for a compact Inverse Compton Scattering (ICS) source. Using a high-power ultra-short pulse laser operating in burst mode in a Fabry-Pérot enhancement cavity, we show that outcoming photons with a total flux over 10$^{13}$ and energies in the MeV range are achievable. Split-cavity tuning of a rectangular axion haloscope operating around 8.4 GHz / Golm, Jessica (CERN ; Jena U.) ; García-Barceló, Jose María (Munich, Max Planck Inst.) ; Arguedas Cuendis, Sergio (CERN) ; Calatroni, Sergio (CERN) ; Wuensch, Walter (CERN) ; Döbrich, Babette (Munich, Max Planck Inst.)
The axion haloscope is the currently most sensitive method to probe the vanishingly small coupling of this prominent Dark Matter candidate to photons. To scan a sizeable axion Dark Matter parameter space, the cavities that make up the haloscope need to be tuned efficiently. [...]

Hot electron enhanced photoemission from laser fabricated plasmonic photocathodes / Martinez-Calderon, Miguel (CERN) ; Groussin, Baptiste (CERN) ; Bjelland, Victoria (CERN ; Norwegian U. Sci. Tech.) ; Chevallay, Eric (CERN) ; Fedosseev, Valentin N (CERN) ; Himmerlich, Marcel (CERN) ; Lorenz, Pierre ; Manjavacas, Alejandro ; Marsh, Bruce A (CERN) ; Neupert, Holger (CERN) et al.
Photocathodes are key elements in high-brightness electron sources and ubiquitous in the operation of large-scale accelerators, although their operation is often limited by their quantum efficiency and lifetime. Here, we propose to overcome these limitations by utilizing direct-laser nanostructuring techniques on copper substrates, improving their efficiency and robustness for next-generation electron photoinjectors. Multipacting Breakdowns / Wuensch, Walter (speaker) (CERN)
The lecture “Multipactor and Breakdown” gives an introduction into the two main arcing phenomena encountered in high-power RF systems. The basic resonant character of multipactor and the role of secondary electron yield is shown. [...]

High beta cavities II / Wuensch, Walter (speaker) (CERN)
The lectures “High-Beta Cavities I and II” cover the main concepts that underly acceleration of relativistic beams, with a focus on traveling wave acceleration. These include the concepts of phase velocity and synchronism with the beam, group velocity, periodically loaded accelerating structures, the Brillouin diagram and the fundamental theorem of beam loading derived from an energy balance point of view..

A Proposal for a Low-Frequency Axion Search in the 1–2 μ$\umu$ eV Range and Below with the BabyIAXO Magnet / Ahyoune, Saiyd (ICC, Barcelona U.) ; Melcón, Alejandro Álvarez (Cartagena Politecnica U.) ; Cuendis, Sergio Arguedas (ICC, Barcelona U.) ; Calatroni, Sergio (CERN) ; Cogollos, Cristian (Munich, Max Planck Inst.) ; Devlin, Jack (Imperial Coll., London) ; Díaz-Morcillo, Alejandro (Cartagena Politecnica U.) ; Díez-Ibáñez, David (U. Zaragoza (main)) ; Döbrich, Babette (Munich, Max Planck Inst.) ; Galindo, Javier (U. Zaragoza (main)) et al.
In the near future BabyIAXO will be the most powerful axion helioscope, relying on a custom-made magnet of two bores of 70 cm diameter and 10 m long, with a total available magnetic volume of more than 7 m$^3$. In this document, we propose and describe the implementation of low-frequency axion haloscope setups suitable for operation inside the BabyIAXO magnet. [...]

Punching of arbitrary face prismatic loops from hydrogen nanobubbles in copper / Lopez-Cazalilla, A (Helsinki U.) ; Djurabekova, F (Helsinki U.) ; Granberg, F (Helsinki U.) ; Mizohata, Kenichiro (Helsinki U.) ; Perez-Fontenla, Ana Teresa (CERN) ; Calatroni, Sergio (CERN) ; Wuensch, Walter (CERN)
When a metal surface is exposed to prolonged irradiation with energetic H−, the ions are expected to penetrate into bulk and dissolve in the matrix. However, the irradiated surfaces exhibit dramatic morphological changes in the form of “blisters” covering the surface exposed to irradiation. [...]
