Monitored neutrino beams are a novel technology designed to provide measurements of the neutrino cross sections at GeV scale with a total uncertainty of O(1%), thus improving by one order of magnitude current experimental estimates. The ENUBET project is close to proving for the first time the feasibility of this concept and the Collaboration is preparing a proposal for a new neutrino beam at CERN based on the SPS accelerator and the ProtoDUNEs neutrino detectors that are already operative at the North Experimental Area. Bruno Kessler, Povo) ; Angelis, I (Aristotle U., Thessaloniki) ; Bomben, L (INFN, Milan Bicocca ; Insubria U., Como) ; Bonesini, M (INFN, Milan Bicocca) ; Bramati, F (INFN, Milan Bicocca ; Milan Bicocca U.) ; Branca, A (INFN, Milan Bicocca ; Milan Bicocca U.) ; Brizzolari, C (INFN, Milan Bicocca ; Milan Bicocca U.) ; Brunetti, G (INFN, Milan Bicocca ; Milan Bicocca U.) ; Capelli, S (INFN, Milan Bicocca ; Insubria U., Como) et al.
Monitored neutrino beams are facilities where beam diagnostics enable the counting and identification of charged leptons in the decay tunnel of a narrow band beam. These facilities can monitor neutrino production at the single particle level (flux precision %) and provide information about the neutrino energy at the 10% level. [...]

Design and performance of the ENUBET monitored neutrino beam
/ ENUBET Collaboration
The ENUBET project is aimed at designing and experimentally demonstrating the concept of monitored neutrino beams. These novel beams are enhanced by an instrumented decay tunnel, whose detectors reconstruct large-angle charged leptons produced in the tunnel and give a direct estimate of the neutrino flux at the source. [...]

In this paper, different Silicon PhotoMultiplier (SiPM) sensors have been tested with charged particles to characterize the Cherenkov light produced in the sensor protection layer. A careful position scan of the SiPM response has been performed with different prototypes, confirming the large number of firing cells and proving almost full efficiency, with the SiPM filling factor essentially negligible. Characterization of timing and spacial resolution of novel TI-LGAD structures before and after irradiation
/ Senger, Matias (University of Zurich (CH)) ; Borghi, Giacomo (FBK - Fondazione Bruno Kessler (IT)) ; Boscardin, Maurizio (Universita degli Studi di Trento and INFN (IT)) ; Centis Vignali, Matteo (FBK - Fondazione Bruno Kessler (IT)) ; Kilminster, Ben (University of Zurich (CH)) ; Macchiolo, Anna (University of Zurich (CH)) ; Paternoster, Giovanni (FBK - Fondazione Bruno Kessler (IT)) ; Bisht, A (FBK) ; Ficorella, F (FBK) ; Hammad Ali, O (FBK)
The characterization of spacial and timing resolution of the novel Trench Isolated LGAD (TI-LGAD) technology is presented. This technology has been developed at FBK with the goal of achieving 4D pixels, where an accurate position resolution is combined in a single device with the precise timing determination for Minimum Ionizing Particles (MIPs). This paper presents the measurements on first very thin Ultra Fast Silicon Detectors (UFSDs) produced by Fondazione Bruno Kessler; the data have been collected in a beam test setup at the CERN PS, using beam with a momentum of 12 GeV/c. UFSDs with a nominal thickness of 25 μm and 35 μm and an area of 1 × 1 mm2 have been considered, together with an additional HPK 50-μm thick sensor, taken as reference. [...]

/ Brizzolari, C (INFN, Milan Bicocca ; Milan Bicocca U.) ; Acerbi, F (Fond. Bruno Kessler, Trento ; TIFPA-INFN, Trento) ; Angelis, I (Aristotle U., Thessaloniki) ; Bonesini, M (INFN, Milan Bicocca) ; Bramati, F (INFN, Milan Bicocca ; Milan Bicocca U.) ; Branca, A (INFN, Padua ; Padua U.) ; Brunetti, G (INFN, Padua) ; Calviani, M (CERN) ; Capelli, S (Insubria U., Como ; INFN, Milan Bicocca) ; Carturan, S (INFN, Legnaro) et al.
The ENUBET experiment, included in the CERN Neutrino Platform effort as NP06/ENUBET, is developing a monitored neutrino beam based on conventional techniques. The aim is to constrain the flux and the flavor composition with a precision of O(1%) by monitoring the associated charged leptons produced in the decay tunnel. [...]
