Dimension-8 SMEFT Analysis of Minimal Scalar Field Extensions of the Standard Model / Ellis, John (King's Coll. London ; CERN) ; Mimasu, Ken (King's Coll. London) ; Zampedri, Francesca (King's Coll. London)
We analyze the constraints obtainable from present data using the Standard Model Effective Field Theory (SMEFT) on extensions of the Standard Model with additional electroweak singlet or triplet scalar fields. We compare results obtained using only contributions that are linear in dimension-6 operator coefficients with those obtained including terms quadratic in these coefficients as well as contributions that are linear in dimension-8 operator coefficients. LHC EFT WG Report: Experimental Measurements and Observables / Castro, Nuno (LIP - Laboratorio de Instrumentação e Física Experimental de Partículas (PT)) ; Cranmer, Kyle Stuart (New York University (US)) ; Gritsan, Andrei (Johns Hopkins University (US)) ; Howarth, James William (University of Glasgow (GB)) ; Magni, Giacomo (Nikhef) ; Mimasu, Ken (King's College London) ; Rojo Chacon, Juan (CERN) ; Roskes, Jeffrey (Johns Hopkins University (US)) ; Vryonidou, Eleni (University of Manchester (GB)) ; You, Tiann-Tevong (CERN)
The LHC effective field theory working group gathers members of the LHC experiments and the theory community to provide a framework for the interpretation of LHC data in the context of EFT. In this note we discuss experimental observables and corresponding measurements in analysis of the Higgs, top, and electroweak data at the LHC [...]

SMEFT analysis of m$_{W}$ / Bagnaschi, Emanuele (CERN) ; Ellis, John (CERN ; King's Coll. London ; NICPB, Tallinn) ; Madigan, Maeve (Cambridge U., DAMTP) ; Mimasu, Ken (CERN) ; Sanz, Veronica (Valencia U., IFIC ; Sussex U.) ; You, Tevong (King's Coll. London ; Cambridge U., DAMTP ; Cambridge U.)
We use the Fitmaker tool to incorporate the recent CDF measurement of $m_W$ in a global fit to electroweak, Higgs, and diboson data in the Standard Model Effective Field Theory (SMEFT) including dimension-6 operators at linear order. We find that including any one of the SMEFT operators ${\cal O}_{HWB}$, ${\cal O}_{HD}$, ${\cal O}_{\ell \ell}$ or ${\cal O}_{H \ell}^{(3)}$ with a non-zero coefficient could provide a better fit than the Standard Model, with the strongest pull for ${\cal O}_{HD}$ and no tension with other electroweak precision data. Top, Higgs, Diboson and Electroweak Fit to the Standard Model Effective Field Theory / Ellis, John (King's Coll. London ; CERN ; NICPB, Tallinn) ; Madigan, Maeve (Cambridge U., DAMTP) ; Mimasu, Ken (King's Coll. London) ; Sanz, Veronica (Valencia U., IFIC ; Sussex U.) ; You, Tevong (CERN ; Cambridge U., DAMTP ; Cambridge U.)
The search for effective field theory deformations of the Standard Model (SM) is a major goal of particle physics that can benefit from a global approach in the framework of the Standard Model Effective Field Theory (SMEFT). For the first time, we include LHC data on top production and differential distributions together with Higgs production and decay rates and Simplified Template Cross-Section (STXS) measurements in a global fit, as well as precision electroweak and diboson measurements from LEP and the LHC, in a global analysis with SMEFT operators of dimension 6 included linearly.
